Umm i've never seen Shakira sing LIVE, and this is obviusly lipsung. Umm Britney Spears has sold about 20 million more albums than Shakira, Mariah Carey is the biggest selling female artist of all time, Beyonce was the lead singer of the biggest selling girlband of all time, Christina has had more international number 1 songs than Christina. Shakira is good for a non-American artist, but she doesn't even come close to the top American women.

I'm from germany and I think it would have been more appropriate if a german artist would have performed. Espacially because the world cup was in germany. Oh ya, she looks fine and definitely better than Herbert, haha! And yes, it's a little odd that they didn't have a German performing but then again Germany doesn't have any world famous musicians, except for maybe Rammstein and Sven Väth (but neither fit this event) so I think it's fine that they went with Shakira, who's known all over the world (and looks so damn hot in that thingie)!
