@guyverunit1 you are probably right in reference to older shamisen such as the Okinawa style etc. but for most of us looking at it`s recent history, The Shamisen as it is known today has for the most part used silk strings and only VERY recently has added nylon. But again, the Shamisen itself has a very long history. Over 400 years in Japan alone and much longer if you trace it`s Chinese roots.

look up "How to Tie Dyed A T-Shirt" online. It ain't that hard... really. We all made our own in the 60's. at least until the clothing companies caught on and started manufacturing them for the world, so everyone could 'be a hippie!'.

IF you don't wanna dye yer own, Google for "where to buy a Tie Dyed T-Shirt". Shouldn't be hard to find.

look for BATIK shirts and shirt making.

colour bathing tshirts by dipping them in various colouring baths. You tie the shirt with strings where you DONT want the colour to stick.
