At 2:03 Ustad Ji says, "Music is such a thing that it affects everything. Not only that, it even affects animals ....." The audience is clapping 'cos Ustad Ji's words seem to be a graceful slap on the trouble maker's face who may have been behaving like animals in audience's opinion.

1) The genre is classical Quawalli. In this section he is doing a Raga Mala(medley of Raagas)

2) The hand movements are done by many classical musicians from the sub continent, I myself a small singer see that the movement of the hands comes naturally when you are lost in the art. It is a very beautiful experience.
