since the linux version released is not a full distro its just built for web surfing or whatever i doubt programs like wine or crossover would work but i haven't tried so i don't know, your best installing xp if you want to game native will always run resource intensive software better.
Yes,i've changed my operating system to windows xp and now it runs great:}you can listen to itunes open 10 tabs on firefox and the system will not hang.great laptop and keyboard with windows xp.
Hey, I was also able to play this (Sims) on my new HP 2133!!^^" it is so smooth while i played this and I'm very satisfied with my mini note. I can plenty of other things n multi tasking like listenin yo music and surfing the net :) and watching movies such as avi.files on VLC player is super smooth :)
im not sure if im using a linux do all hp 2133 come with it?
when i go in control panel-performance and maintence-system it says i have xp home editon verison 2002 sp3
can i play the sims with that?

i am very sorry but i am not a linux user but have tried linux before and maybe it could.try the WINE application on linux.i do not know if it works.

I can install every expansion up to unleashed before it stops working.. No patch.

the hp 2133 is quite good for day to day use i could even play other games on it but it runs very very hot though:{
