The games for this were pirated like crazy. That, coupled with the collapsed SNES-CD deal with Sony (the attempts to try it again with Phillips yielding only the crappy CDI titles) is why the N64 launched as a cartridge system. And the Development Kit disk drive add-on for that system never made it out of Japan due to poor sales.

@shadow524951 No that's the startup of the official hardware of Famicom the one who Nintendo made, the one you mentioned came from Sharp's Twin (and Twin Turbo) Famicom, basically a rebranded Famicom from Sharp.

CD's on gaming wasnt used until sega CD came out (aka mega CD)

but the 3DO is the 1st interactive multiplayer gaming system and manage to get over a total of 230 game i believe in a year

+ it does play DVDs but you cant just go to a store and get a DVD and put in your 3DO

no you have to get the DVD in its own library

theirs not many DVDs for 3DO but there is woody the woodpecker :D

3DO does not play DVDs. It does not play VCDs either.

the only DVD ive only found was woody the woodpecker volume 1-3
