Just bought one. It can be removed by carefully prying between the seam that goes along the middle.
1) Remove the plug of the end of the drive (simple pull straight off)
2) I started at the end opposite of the plug there are 3 tabs. Tab #1 start in the center, push in a thin knife into the slot angle it towards the top to loosten this tab/finger.
3) Keeping the knife angles up (and inserted), slide it towards either end to loosen the other two tabs (located 3/4" from end)...
My hope was to replace my laptop hard drive.... This is to thick and won't fit. I'm not sure if it will fit in a PS3 either, I THINK they also take the thinner 2.5" drives. This drive is 9/16" thick, normal drive is 5/16 to 3/8" thick.

4) Each side has two large Double tabs centered about 1.5" from end. Slide the knife around the corner of each side till the tabs loosen.
5) there are 3 more tabs on the side with the connector. The other tabs are on the bottom plastic, these are in the top. Above the connector.
6) With the cover off the drive can simple be pulled straight out (the 4 black rubber pads slide straight up).
|This drive is thicker than a normal internal 2.5" drive, and does not seem compatible with a laptop!
