Im really curious I love the size of it and Im in to rc's and I was gonna get a gps but this thing looks light and small since it uses gps to track speed would that work well in my rc car?? thanks in advance!!!
@MrCrawler74 It would absolutely work well in a car. The max altitude might be less interesting to you, however your max speed and average speed would show up. This will only work outdoors, mind you!
@briguy99 Thats the only places I can run them lol to fast for indoors (they go as fast as some of your planes) but thanks for the quick response this friday Ill be ordering one again I love the size of it weight will not be an issue
@youtwoba Hi Tom. It's a nice little unit if top speed is what you're interested. If you've got a lot of guys who come out to your club it's a great way to settle the argument about who is faster. I'm going to carry it with me every time I go to the field and I think it's going to get a lot of use there! Same thing for altitude - just how high did my jet go last vertical?
@Allwaystaynfly I don't mind at all! Remember that you want to know how fast the model can move itself through the air - if the air is moving your results will be affected. If I do a pass at 100mph with a 15mph tailwind, the GPS will record my top speed as 115mph!
@briguy99 Ok now I get what your saying, the wind will not effect the gps unit results, it will only effect the results you get minus the wind (hope that makes sense but I know what your saying :)
where do you buy these and how much is the cost? thanks

Greetings, Can this plug into the receiver for power? Or does it require an external power source?
How would you connect this without the use of an extra battery?
I'm flying 64mm EDF jets (3S & 4S) where weight and space is critical.
Thank you for your time!
Cheers.

@inspector111 Yes, the production ones come with a receiver connector I believe. This video is of a pre-production on.
Additionally, the newer ones are lighter, more accurate (faster processor), record the average speed, and display the altitude in feet or metres.

So what is your opinion? Did you tell us that? Looks like it works well? Is it worth 80 bucs?

That is really cool it would be awesome to have one of those in your jets or speed planes, a lot more accurate results.

@Allwaystaynfly Yes, it seemed pretty accurate when I tested it out in my car. Just watch out for the wind - that will affect your results.

@briguy99 If it is using GPS to get your results how would wind effect your results? if you don't mind me asking :)
