  • Is the intro music n*e*r*d? Just made me smile whilst revising, a very difficult task. Great metaphor, thanks for uploading!

  • Hihi, Ajax kaartje... :) Leuk gedaan!

  • I love football metaphors! There is nothing you can't bring down to the pitch...

The whole life is a football match.

  • Great video. Thank you for sharing. I very much enjoyed watching it.

  • so anybody got an idea about the name of that transformation of doxa? i think it's 'le sens pratique'.

  • Hey man, really cool video, thank you very much! It helped me a lot!

  • i just got an 8 on "Analisis Sociopolitico" thanks to this video (along with others). I want to congratulate the author for explaining in such simple way Bourdieu's Field Theory. It really helped me.

Studying from books AND videos is the best fcking way to understand clearly these concepts. Even when my professor says that videos are for short minded.

This is not the first time i succeed with this "double support" way of studying, and surely is not gonna be my last.

    Thumbs up man,u fcking rule

  • I have an MBA class tomorrow. What can you tell them about change... is it possible to recognise one's own Doxa and Habitus... and transform them? What techniques exist for doing this? How does an agency change their agency?

  • Also desperately want to know where the definition for field is from... Meaning from which article or book and where in it.

  • @ChillMal look at 'outline of a theory of practice.' it's a book

  • @ChillMal You will find the definition of Field Theory and Habitus in the book Symbolic Power, if I'm not wrong it is the third chapter.

  • @nanstee:

Doxa is "a set of core values and discourses which a field articulates

as its fundamental principles and which tend to be viewed

    as inherently true and necessary."

While, Habitus is "a concept that expresses, on the one hand, the way in

which individuals ‘become themselves’—develop attitudes and

dispositions—and, on the other hand, the ways in which those

    individuals engage in practices."

Understanding Bourdieu. Webb, Jen et al (2002). Routledge: London

  • I wrote my thesis "A metatheoretical analysis of the problem of agency and structure", where I heavily emphasized the genius of Bourdieu, for "bridging" The A-S-problem, but also critizised him, especially in his pessimistic outlook and his metaphor of "symbolic violence". I think Luhmann has the right idea though.

  • can anyone help with the difference and between habitus and Doxa? thanks

  • damn son shit on fire ya feel me

  • Buen video, deberias ponerle subtitulos en español, esta muy bien
