  • A happy ending, Richard! I love the way it looks and sounds - a quality turntable for sure and a great restoration job! Nice choice of record to demonstrate it with too.

All the very best for 2012,

    Warm Regards, Neil.

    Hi Neil

Just need to sort the motor out - as the ticking is bound to get to me - so better do it now while I have the chance.

    Warm regards

    Richard

  • Sounds real good, Richard.

    Hi Paul

Still some work to do - but getting there.

    Happy New Year

    Richard ;)

  • This very similar to a deck I had as part of a Hitachi music centre. Nice to look at and to use, but it had a low voltage DC motor with a "stabilised" speed controller. The motor seemed grossly underpowered and I could not get the player to give the same lively performance as from my idler drives, so it got shelved. I think it will more likely do better with the four pole mains motor and although it's not sounding too great at the moment, it might kick in once the motor shaft is clean.

    Hi

Many thanks - and you are not alone about the motor noise

    Warm regards
