I didn't appreciate this song back in '90, but that's because I never heard it with enough fidelity to make out the words. I only looked it up now because I was reminded of "Concrete Blonde" because of a recent Starbucks light roast coffee called Blonde. Got curious My motivation for looking it up might have been silly, but this song certainly isn't. It's about a whole lot people's relationships. I'm very sorry to read that the performers here are under appreciated today. This was a great perf.
I will go to my grave never understanding WHY?!?!? Lady gaga, justin beaver, and Katy perry made it bigger than these SUPER talented people like concrete blonde! It pains me cause they deserve MUCH, MUCH, MORE RECOGNITION!! This song is so deep!! Everything about it, from the lyrics, to her voice, to the guitar, the drums and even without a bass in this video!! Simply AMAZING !!!
@Osiris619yahoo Osiris babe, unfortunately the brightest lights DO burn the shortest. This woman is a living LEGEND, and the world today will never recognize it, save the fans that Johnette and Jim picked up along the way. All we can do is grow old with her and be sad for the death of real music. I will listen to Concrete Blonde until the day I'm dead. Love their music more than anything on this earth.
@sucktastic Your right I am an ass hole and will never change. Oh and my musicians dont need to look good, I was just commenting on how years of drug abuse can make someone look dragged out, so as for doing what she loved I'm sure she did, using the money from her one hit wonder to support her obvious drug habit.
I'm sure there are a lot of things you don't get. If you demand your musicians look cute and palatable, stick with Swift. Instead of making an observation about their success (or lack thereof in a changing post-grunge musical landscape, you snark on a 50 something woman's looks who has spent her life doing what she loves doing - making music. Then you get pissy when you're called on it. Weak dude. Real weak. But keep being an asshole, you certainly won't be alone.
@sucktastic Taylor Swift videos are what way?..Dont really get that and I'm not a Swift fan...Concrete Blonde is and always will be a one hit wonder. This song is amazing, yes, but this is about all the genius and talent I have seen from her, and I have listened to just about everything on here by them. So yea, I will run along and listen to someone with a little more talent, enjoy the music of your era and your 80's and 90's one hit wonder albums.
I think she look pretty dang awesome. She was born in '57, after all. And she still has an amazing set of of pipes, and she sings with her perfect soul. Go, Johnette!
Saw them in Dallas the next day at the Granada. Better show than the 2010 show they did, same venue. They rocked harder. Johnette owned the place, too. And it was LOUD too, bursting the walls of the place. A good time was had by all.
Saw them at Emo's East in Austin...funny Fitzgeralds was a adolesent hangout Houstonion forever! Concrete Blonde was the best show I have ever been too! Johnette looked awesome and brought back my 90's for a night! Crete Fan for life!

Johnette is still the greatest. The most thrilling singer I've ever heard. Effortless greatness.
