Hello, What is in the tank being pulled behind the Macdon Swather. I have never seen anyone apply a product onto swathed canola before. Would it be something like a Pod Sealant ??
Those GPS units make some nice blocks! My crew were rolling in Deere 9860s with no GPS so we basically had to guess where to strike out. Lots of wasted time picking up 10 foot swaths to finish a block. Those front dual wheels look pretty badass too. Last season was really wet in NSW and our 2wd machines just sunk in the mud too many times to count.
Hey lads wat was the name of the contractor, keen on a harvest in oz. currently working in nz. if ya got any contact details would greatly apriciate..
To answer some of your quastions: The crops yielded between 1.5 t/ha in canola to 6t/ha in some of the swathed barley, but the majority was wheat which averaged around the 3.5t/ha.
The lexion 600 has a 45 foot front, and the newhollands had 40's
Harvest didn't really start till November and were finished by christmas eve.
There was Cyclones (the black bin on the back of the headers) fitted to two of the CR which allowed the chaff to be placed on top of the swath, where it was then baled and the bales turned into compost, this cut down on weeds, because the majority of the weed seeds are in the chaff.
nice vid man ! what's that screen for on top of the phillips rollerdown canola pick up ? and what's that "bin" for on the back of the CR ? seems like a nice crew to work with.
It would be interesting to know the yields, because I can see how they can use all the power of the Lexion 600. In France u already need 10.5m front to keep her occupied, so there they would need 30m?
Very nice, I worked north of esperance for the 08 harvest and the 09 seeding, then i worked for Staines in august september before i came home. Who was it you worked for?
Mud Flaps are for flattening canola, wheat barley stalks before the tires roll over them. The Straw stalks damage the lugs on the tires over time, its mad!
they use the rubber flaps in front of tyres as it gets really hot in aus as so do the tyres and the straw is hard on the tyres this flaps knock the stubble down
