I believe this is more feasible than the current god most people pray to. We can clone sheep, we can do most of the things this other civilization could do then today. Almost, at least. And just makes no sense how all the sudden we have Sumerians with a full civilization and no record of a civilization progressing before that time. It's still far fetched, yes, but I would like to see anyone try with all the machinery we have today to try and build something like the Baalbek.
The answer to this is simple! Wooden wedges were placed in one side of the gap into end ret it with water. The expansion of the wood was so strong that was able to crack the stone from its base. Obviously in this case something did not go so well and the stone broke. Maybe the rock was not in uniform hardness as a natural material or the applied pressure from the wet wood was not uniform!
they also had wood they say but the tree's from this country dont look like they could make a decent fire never mind form a machine capable of this. llyod pye has a really good web sight. interesting stuff.
