Thanks for posting Dude, but I have a follow up questions.
You have seen the movies and TV shows before buying the DVDs, but have you actually rewatched them on the new DVD, or do you have some DVDs on your shelf that you haven't watched yet (even if you have seen the actual movie or TV show on the disc earlier somewhere else)?
As long as folks pay to see crap, there will be more crap. That's it, in a nutshell. Recently I was watching a terrible film, one of the Friday the 13th films, I can't recall which (but it really doesn't matter), and thinking, this sucks, why am I watching it? I guess it's entertaining in its own disgusting, unimaginative way... but there is a line to be drawn. KING KONG LIVES may be the line, or perhaps BLOOD FEAST... probably KONG, because at least BLOOD FEAST never pretended to be art.
I don't really like to judge other people's tastes, but it always kills me when people complain about all the horrible films they have seen at the movies...DON'T GO THEN!
It's one thing to watch a crappy movie on TV/cable, or online or DVD even, but if people keep going to movie theaters and tuning in to watch incredible rotten television shows, what do they think that the lemmings in Hollywood are going to keep producing then? Sheesh.
I don't go to the cinemas very much as well. Only when there is a new film by a director that I really love (like Cronenberg, Burton or Tarantino) I go and see it.
You kow, you're right when you say that people should start being selective, but most people go to the cinema just for entertainment and don't care for the movie or the director that much I think. They go there because they are bored and to see the newest thing or to make out with their girlfriends there. LOL
I agree completely Dominik. Most people go to the movies just to get out and do something these days, as opposed to seeing a specific film...I just wish that they would be pickier when they do. If you are going to go to a movie with friends or on a date, be choosy and select a film that is worth supporting, that way you will have a good time AND send a message to the entertainment industry.
BTW: Those are three great directors, I love all their work. :)
Yes..I Know I Came Down A Little Hard..I Know I Went A Little Too Far In Those Videos..I Admit That You Are Right About The People Who See The Shitty Films Are What's Really Killing Good Films Nowadays..Because People Are Such Idiots..But The Chance Of People Not Seeing Crappy Movies Is Not Very Likely,Because I Hate To Admit It But Today's Generation Sucks. Thanks For The Response..
