  • I am a new student of the harmonica and my teacher sent me to youtube the greatest! Thank you so much for posting this! The tempo is staggeringly (new word) fast for me to play along with but this is awesome!!!!

  • Further to my previous posting I would like to add that this swings like crazy and - just like the fantastic 'Mystery Train' by Elvis, Scotty & Bill - there's no drummer, folks.

The other side of the 78 rpm issue, 'Brutal Hearted Woman', is a great record, too.

In passing, I would like to salute and thank Mike Rowe for alerting me to this beautiful music back in 1966.

  • "Accomplished"? He was the fucking best, man. Voice, slide, fingerpicking: Shines had it all.

  • shortrax, this is just super "stuff".new to this listener and i've been "baptised". thank you soooo much for the experience and the growth. tom d brick,nj

  • Hard Stuff!!!Fantastic!!!

    Brilliant Post!!!

  • Hey! I like it! Those two go good together... thanks!

  • I prefer Big Walter over Little Walter any time !!! And Johnny shines has one of the best voices in the blues !!! I saw him perform at Chicago's Navy pier at a party thrown by Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream shortly before Johnny left us. RIP Johnny & Walter !!!

  • Essential Big Walter!!!

  • You can really hear the influence he had on LW here.

  • One of the best songs ever! Some of Walter Horton's best playing, too.

  • Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic ... I never knew that JS played the guitar on this, just that the legendary BWH was on the harp. What a great find.

  • It's one masterpiece in Blues music.

  • Walter snapped.

  • what a powerful harp sound

  • Yuu can buy it @ Amazon or what ever....

Rough Treatment: The J.O.B Records Story.

  • Classic

  • just thought i'd send a video of my own , I'm using lee oskar harp in g thru a shure 520 into a fender vibrolux!

  • This is some of the best Big Walter I've ever heard!!! I wasn't aware of it at all so it's a huge surprise and an even bigger delight ot listen to!!! Automatic favorite!!!

  • Yes, this is my favourite Big Walter stuff. You must also hear the alternative take 'Evening Shuffle' which features subtly different and equally great playing.

This is just one of THE post-war blues classics!

    Many thanks for posting this.

    Best wishes

  • thank walter for your fantastic music
