Robotech is definitely licensed in America and has been since Harmony Gold brought it over in the '80s, though I'm not sure about the other shows. The song "Robot Love" is copyright Lords of Acid and reproduced in its entirety. The nature and purpose of this video do not qualify it as fair use under title 17 U.S.C. § 107. Now back to enjoying my juicebox...

Firstly i am against the way the copyright laws currently work so don't get me wrong, but still the problem is that using someone's work and posting it to the public DOES violate copyright laws. Fair use applies to using a small portion of someones work. It's irrelevant if your motive is to make money on it or not. Furthermore youtube also is violating copyright by hosting your video, because of the reason just stated and because youtube makes money off it's videos.

That's mostly for the song used though, i have no idea how fair use works for chopping up video and reorganizing it, but i think it would be extremely unlikely that people who made the anime would complain about the video portion of this. Anyway I like this video and i think that the copyright laws should be changed.

Hmm i think the problem is that copyright laws are now used mostly for protecting profit which isnt really what they are supposed to be for. Copyright laws are supposed to for promoting creativity and it seems like more and more they are starting to stifle it instead. But if push came to shove you could ask for permission from the copyright owners. Still though like 90% of vids on youtube are a copyright violation of some sort, so i wouldnt worry about it too much lol.

If asked youtube will remove this. Read Lessig's "Free Culture". Be educated & advocate change.
