It is not based on a true story. We know this because the movie was set out exactly how a movie should be set out. I.E. there was a natural protagonist in the plot. Also, if the Russians did reach the moon during the cold war they would be quick to notify the world, not keep it a secret.

what the hell i went to NASA myself and they themselves say that after apollo 17 in 1978 they sent two astronauts on a secret mission to the moon because of apollo 17's report of strange activity occuring on the moon. so no one go around telling me that there is no Apollo 18 because Apollo missions went up to Apollo 20 all of them SECRET! i saw myself a 20 mins. documentary about Apollo 18 at NASA!! if you think theres any 'real' footage in this movie your a goof... its like that '4th kind' movie where they tried to convince you it was 'real' footage mixed in with 'acting', when it was clear that the whole movie was just 'acting'.. its just an excuse to make a cheap movie with bad acting and poor camera quality, and even if the movie gets horrible reviews, enough people will have watched it for it to actually make $.. just like the blair witch..

Everyone watch the ending credits. It has the list of all the names of the actors in the film. for a while I believed it was real too, until I found out they are actors. I dont understand how they can say this is real footage at the start of the film, when its not. Does anyone know why they are allowed to lie like that?

first off, there is no proof what so ever of apollo 18 being sent to the moon and having alien contact. the movie is obviously fake also. if in the end they crash, how did they get the tapes of the crash? theres a thought... also i do believe in something else out there, i just dont think its little rock spider crab things on the moon. i think the moon is uninhabited... if it wasnt, there would be some sort of proof that there is life on the moon by now.

It is not based on a true story. We know this because the movie was set out exactly how a movie should be set out. I.E. there was a natural protagonist in the plot. Also, if the Russians did reach the moon during the cold war they would be quick to notify the world, not keep it a secret.

If they could make a movie film this authentic is for a reason; nothing is impossible; us human have the capacity to create any images specially if you have money per say The Government. Sure NASA knows about what happen on the moon on 1969. Why they haven't returned. At least I can say that great percentage amount of people had made their own research to find out the truth. To all of you confused, a police man on the news told the government he's gona tell everyone that aliens are real and the government said ok if you do we will kill you. so he did and then they shot him then a few weeks later NASA made it a bit less confusing with what happened to Apollo 18 and how it didn't come back.
