hey man! what kind of sticks do you use? I notice that you leave about almost a quarter of space at the bottom end of your hand. Does that help with control? and would you recommend using longer sticks? O.o

The deep sound comes from being a deep snare. 14" x 8" I believe his snare is. Hybrid drums tend to have an amazing attack as is. And to get a tight snare sound includes tuning it right to match with the bass so it doesn't buzz every time and of course tightening the snares. :)
