This music reaches right in side of you and can take you to a nice place many people cannot understand. There must be new talent out there that can do this to a soul but no one wants that. A big bang flash of fire then move on. The lucky people who have these old records and still listen to them after 40,50.60 years of owning them are my type of people. lucky for me I know some not many but there still here.
When I was seven years old in 1952, my sister had this recording at her house (she had gone and gottin' married) and I would play it all the time when I went over to her place. It brings back great memories. R.I.P. Carl Smith, one of my all time favorites.
Smooth as silk. I always loved this song. Didn't think I would ever be able to hear it again. But thanks to YouTube and you 1951Jane I found this nugget of gold by Carl Smith. Thank you so much. Lucia
I was raised in North-Central Maine and listened to Carl Smith on the Grand Ole Opry and to the records that The Coffee-Drinking Nighthawk, Lee Moore, played on his WWVA program. Never heard a Carl Smith song that I didn't like. I listen to his songs often, and still enjoy them as much now as I did 50 years ago.
Who hasn't loved having the big ole full moon looking over their shoulder in their courtin' days? I love this song and for me it's Carl's signature song. Ballads are my favorite anyway. I do miss Carl's singing - he retired early it seems. Thank you for posting.
Hi, this is on the Columbia record no.20825(flip side is, If Teardrops Were Pennies) another one of my favorites. According to a guide that I have on records, the records numbered 20000-21000 were from 1951-56.

I have a CD of Carl Smith's greatest hits and I love it,
