I get what your saying. I don't agree...completely. There are basic needs. I am so heavy that I have to contend with prejudices from strangers and family. Getting healthy is becoming urgent enough that once achieved will deliver a level of happiness not yet experienced. Maybe happiness isn't one thing. Maybe there are different kinds of happiness to be experienced. You can't devalue the joy of achievement. We share in your joy every Thursday and it motivates us to also do well and be consistent.
I agree with you. I totally don't devalue the joy in achievement, but everything is relative, like if i expected to lose 10 pounds every thursday, and i didnt make it, thursday would be a failure based on my expectations.
You should pick up some Friedrich Nietzsche and to make it all light hearted pre set your mind with "the big lebowski"
"We are nihilist we believe in nothing"
- nihilist from big lebowski
"The things you own, end up owning you"
- Brad Pitt, fight club
I agree....I dumped a posh materialist lifestyle keeping certain nice things I can have happy fun with. (like make up) I think a nice setting can make you put up with a lot of crap you wouldn't otherwise.
I would definitely agree with this...
