for others who don't know the "e-mail" address of your phone. Send a txt msg to your email from your phone. This will show you the email address of your phone.

Verizon users. leave the subject blank if sending via email. Works with windows live mail.

send it like this:

Subj: (leave blank)

Body: GPS my droid (or what ever the trigger word you set)

then send it. For me i had the location in under 1 min.

Was able to send email to my Samsung Fascinate (Verizon) from my laptop to get the phone to ring but am not able to get it to email me the GPS info which is why I downloaded it - in case of theft. Tried typing "GPS My Droid" in both subject field and body of the email from my laptop. My phone received the email but never sent email back. Can you help?

Okay this app works well on lost phone BUT does it work on a stolen phone??? Sort of like htc sense? So the thief may decide to take out my sim card OR they may even want to reset the phone by restoring factory settings... will where's my droid still work?

@chocolat80 unfortunatly it won't work. if someone restores factory settings the app will be deleted and if your sim-card is not in the phone it is not connected to your phone number in any way.

@hr110391 text your phone from the sms feature ... send your phrase to start the gps function then send another sms with yoru phrase to find the phone, when the phone starts to rings if someone unlocks it it will send the location right away , if they dont it takes about three minutes to show up in the sms box just click and it shows you right on google maps where it is

I just tried this with my phone and it is not working. Perhaps I am doing something wrong (which is probably the case). My boy friend just called me saying he lost his phone (myTouch tmobile). I tried the text and email versions and also tried doing it to my own phone and nothing seems to be working. I sent it about 30 minutues ago and have not received any emails and my phone has not rung. What am I doing wrong? I really would love for this to work for me!!! btw I have a samsung vibrant

I'm not sure how, but other apps like yours (WaveSecure, PhoneLocator or similar) can start the GPS to later send the location too much accuracy.

this would be great if i had 2 phones.. or was constantly around a friend so i could send myself texts.. sweet app dude, but needs some work.. you need to make it so you can access it VIA internet. now a computer, i always have handy!! but like i said.. i dont just have an extra phone laying around to send a text to my lost phone LMAO!
