Know one knows the dates of these monuments or culture just know that it is older than any thing out now Islam judaism Christianity Ethiopia Africa have even lost track of their on time period They need to preserve there history and strive to keep it before the Arab and white thieves have it like the took Egypt
Well done Sir, I dream for this moment, ashame to say I was born there, our lousy leaders instead teaching us our ancient legacy their people prefer to fight each other.
People have come to Ethiopia to steal our history, culture and tell theworld twisted lie
Okay. I was beginning to think that the cross & the moon & star were pagan symbols adopted by our ancestors, but now i realise they adopted it from us. But Ethiopia and this whole series of videos fail to draw their true heritage as Hebrew Israelites if they claim connection to the commandments. Is it understood that their ancestors were Hebrews??If so, according to the Bible Deuteronomy 28:64 describes what ppl because it is clearly not Beta Israel who were scattered among nations, maybe slaves
@SimpleK1987 searching for the truth an awaiting response from anyone. it seems a little conflicting. I was raised as a Christian & was presented an image of a white Jesus. Now beginning to understand that the true hebrews were dark skinned and Roman Catholic views which are prevalent today are all lies or censored to cover up the true Hebrews...
interesting. i love these series so much! they are really informative and feed my African history hunger.
i for one am absolutely glad that there was no focus on Ancient Egypt. i feel too much importance is placesd to AE in African history and there's still that belief that the ancient Egyptians were not African. blah, i say forget about AE, there are other amazing African kingdoms to focus on and learn of.
wow..sometimes being ethiopian and not visiting all this sites makes me mad. thanks for sharing this wonderful video. im sure ethiopian welcomed u with warm heart.. ETHIOPIA FOREVER
@RASyared i beg to differ. Ancient Egypt has been lost to Africa for a very long time. Even now as you should well know AE is described by many as Middle Eastern, Eurasian or Mediterranean culture, anything and everything except African.
archiologist are only guessing, most of their own history are based on lies.
what the ethiopian people are telling you in ethiopia are not legend all are facts and is the true-history. ethiopians or black race do not tell untrue history like the rest of the world.
Rossini, Italian "scholar," was the one who assumed Ethiopia's civilization originated in Yemen. This was believed 4 a long time until his historically incorrectness was shown by Arab Historian Pirenne. She went on as far as arguing that it was from Ethiopia to Yemen & not as the other way. Her thesis later was supported by Drewes' discovery of Geez inscription as old as the earliest Sabaean graffiti found in Ethiopia. This showed Geez didn't develop externally but indigenously.
Why does he make it sound as if the Queen of Sheba was from Yemen? Why does he make the ancient Ethiopian script sound like a derivative of the Sabaean script from Yemen. That eurocentric myth was debunked some time ago. Ethiopia was a 100% indigenous African civilzation which developed with no help from outsiders.
@MrSesh84 I think you are forgetting the fact it was during the time of Queen Sheba a large number of Arabs (mainly from Southern Arabia, what is now Yemen Oman and parts of Saudi) immigrated to Ethiopia. That is why you will find evidences of sabian language both in Yemen and Ethiopia. Therefore both countries have legitimate claim to Queen Sheba.

@MrSesh84 It has been proven wrong, although i wouldn't call it eurocentric.
I am also convinced, that Ethiopia wasn't a 100% indigenous African civilisation, simply because there have been very few 100% indigenous civ.s and they never became as it advanced or mighty as Ethiopia was. Also geographically speaking there has to have been a lot of contact ie through trade with other empires. That does however not impair it's unusual and highly respectable greatness.
Beautiful presentation..Loved the narration..I THINK It would have been more interesting to talk abt the churches near lake Tana as well since they also have a lot of interesting churches..
That's also the same cross' in in a similar style that's seen on the buildings in Lalibela. Ironically, this structure predates King Ezana's coversion to Christianity. So that means that the cross (as well as the Cresent Moon and Star) have a much longer history and significance in Ethiopia than the actual religions. Interesting! Someone should investigate this.
@rattler1932 I am tempted to suggest that offcial conversion took place after a significant period of gradual acceptance and incorporation of christian beliefs. As such, the introduction of symbols like the cross is in sync with the introduction of the religion, which is in itself obviously different from the king's eventual conversion to a new set of symbols and beliefs.

@MrSesh84 I don't think Egypt's ancient civilizations are lost compared to the rest of series presented on BBC4.
