i have an ibanez s520 i got it in 2001 it was built in 2001 too, its slightly different from the newer ones but it has one of the best lead tones ive ever heard and the fastest neck ive ever played, it also has the original edge bridge. After i bought my SG it was lyin around slightly neglected, but recently i got it back in action and its priceless to me now! i swear if u find a 2001 S 520 buy it its worth it! i even heard that people are selling them for a higher price than the seller paid.

Only thing I have run into is weak trem arm sockets.I have broken two of them in a year.The nut on the back of it keeps coming loose allowing too much play and too much stress on the socket.One remedy for this is of coarse make sure it's always tight.Or an easier way is to run the original nut all the way down and tighten it then either put some thread lock on before you put the nut on or put a second nut on it and tighten it up too.

Have you tried using plumbers tape around those treads? I imagine that should cure that loose nut from coming undone again.

i just got a new socket replacement, it was from the newer models and it fixes the problem. tight as a ticks ass now
