Why would anybody want that rifle? You can't easily follow up anything with another shot. It needs a recoil reduction device like a buffer spring or the design the Barret uses.

It's not the gun. It's the ammo. Most rifle ammo, even at bigger sizes than that, is aerodynamic, and has the classic torpedo-shape that we expect to see. The .577 Tyrannosaur is built more like a big square block of lead. It's the exact opposite of aerodynamic. To propel that beast of a bullet takes a lot of energy. Hence, all these poor bastards are blown out of their shoes.
