Hi, this little fella was hand-raised with other orphaned feral pigeons at a wildlife rescue centre and released when they were all grown up (none were tamed).

  • everyones a fuckin animal expert now.

  • We have been hand feeding ababy piveon as well the past few weeks as well. We have him on baby bird formula, and have now started him on parakeet food along with the liquid...ill post our video as soon as I get home so you can see. Hard to find anyone around herr who could help us...so we had to learn how to do it ourselves.

Hi, please read the information on this website about feeding baby pigeons: pigeonrescue.co.uk/caringforababypigeon.htm It has very good information there that you may find helpful. I look forward to seeing your video.

  • @PigeonsAsPets I dont see on here where I can upload a reply video..I have my videos under this nic...Longtalsally....we have an updated one too but I havent been able to download it from my phone "/....thanks for the reply...

  • should've added some water or moist feed/bread, to make it softer and easier to swallow....

  • @firebaby7

I did say in the video comments that this pigeon was also being gavaged liquid bird rearing formula.

  • @PigeonsAsPets cool.... i've had to hand-raise a number of pigeons myself, but i always used my hands, or a straw or a syringe... and a baby medicine dropper once or twice, lol...

  • This would work good with 18%-20% Protein Chick Crumples too I bet.

  • @Maderjb

    I'm sure it would! :)

  • Really great idea! It looks way more suitable than feeding using hands or needleless syringe.

  • @0Vla0

It is a really easy way to get seed into a pigeon, but I've found that if the baby is scared of you then it won't open its beak and wont feed from the jar. It is, however, very important to give the babies fluids too (e.g. with gavaging) otherwise they may not be able to digest the hard seeds.

  • Wow great Idea!!!! Thats the best feeder i've ever seen!

  • @storm80error

Thank you! But I cannot take credit for it. I saw it on a pro-pigeon website (for some reason I cannot post the link here.)
