@fifazstreet I own one now because I thought the red LED spot was suppose to be the flash. Ohwell, no biggy. The HD quality is great, but not the built-in mic so much. That's why the camcorder has a mic jack.

Looks like SDHC, microphone, and t.v. is included with purchase and not optional accessories. The ad does not say that it's not.

haha silly. It's for demonstration. The T.V. of course does not come with it. You use your own HD t.v. SDHC comes separate and it has a built in Mic.

have you heard the audio on the Flips or any other handheld camera for that matter. The audio on the Zi8 is the best I don't know what you are listening to, but there's a little thing called plug in power. Look up the Roland BA-CS10

no headphone jack? amazing... a. major issue...hopefully the Zi9 HD will have mic and headphone ports.

btw: the $4 mic is the Sony F-V100....it does not have an on'off switch which is a Zi8 feature!

beware: stay away from the phone plug adaptors. the cam mini plug can not take the weight. if you must use an adaptor, get a "wired" one and rap the cable around a pocket mono pod or your hand

well, its wayy better now that it has mic, like i would rather have a mic than a headphone jack, seeing how its a camera, not a ipod lol

headphones are required to monitor the audio source. some mics have batteries and they slowly die. some mics have on/off switches - how do you know when it is on or off? some people hold the mic to close to their mouths and some to far away. the ext mic port in a pocket cam is good news. but, buyer beware, there are pit falls without the ability to monitor your audio source.

One thing that might give the Kodak a run for it's money is the RCA EZ409HD that gets released the same day. One thing that looks amazing about the EZ409HD is that it does 1080p at 60FPS!!! according to amazon. So for me, it's between the Zi8 and the EZ409HD

The external microphone jack will be the Zi8's killer app. No other camera in its class has ever had that feature. The Zi8's image stabilization will also be a good attraction if it works well.
