It's the music for the Doomsday Zone. Just look up Sonic & Knuckles Doomsday Zone in a google search if you want to download it. There should even be a torrent floating around for the whole soundtrack (sadly the one I found doesn't have the bonus stage music).

They should remixed this for the final boss in Generations, considering that's how it played out...both Sonics were Super, had to fly through time and space, had to keep collecting rings in order to stay alive, and had to dodge obstacles..... :/

And yeah, there was a remix of this for the 3DS version (E3 beta), but I thought the instrument choices weren't that good.

And when I defeated eggman, I thought it was going to the end credits. But then I WAS IN SPACE!!! IN HYPER SONIC MODE!!
