  • Cool looking kit. Hesitant as it seems to have some rapid drift?? or was that the other station?

  • @ez2curanut Thanks for the question. The drift was on the other station's radio. The Hendricks uses a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) VFO which is stable. I liked the sound of his HW-9. Although there was some instability, it was not drifting out of my pass band and it had a certain unique character that was fun to hear. There used to be many more signals with unique characteristics on the bands but now most are using DDS/PLL VFOs. 73 de Lynn/NG9D.

  • @VictoreCelia Victor, thanks for your kind comments and encouragement over the past couple years. Your video of your contact with the ISS was inspiring to me and maybe I will try some mode other than low power CW in the future! 73 de NG9D, Lynn

  • @oalonso1 Thank! Lots of weekend fun on 20,30 and 40 mtrs with the PFR3A and a small wire antenna supported on a PVC tube as a mini-inverted-vee. This QSO with Steve was my favorite -- since it was QRP X2! 73 de NG9D . .

  • @g0vqw Hi Sandy, good to hear from you again. Yes, I think your right. I really like the sound of the classic rigs, and it was a real audio treat to work Steve and his HW9! - 73 Lynn
