Do you think that it's possible to create the same composition shooting with a 14-24mm lens instead of the 24-70mm? Or there'll be some distortion effect?
Yes, that is correct, there will be a lot of distortion where the stitching software / plug-in will have hard time stitching. Plus, if they successfully attempt to stitch the images altogether, it becomes very small like a single photograph using 24-70mm with a lot of curvy edges around. It is the best to use 24-70mm or longer lenses to do panorama. Wide angle and fisheye lenses are good for "360º Virtual Tour" photographs
when you get the files from a folder, do the pictures have to have consecutive file names (i.e. DSC0001, DSC002, DSC003, etc.) for them to be lined up properly?
or can photoshop detect which picture goes next to which?
Good vid thanks, I have used the Warp function but not for this reason before. However I would say to people that if possible take your panorama pictures in a portrait format that way you have more to crop from the top and bottom of the picture. Landscape orientation can give you less room for error.
Landscape image format have a plenty of room to overlay the images by either 10-25% but for portrait image format, you would need to take more photographs to overlay each image but it is more difficult because with all the moving subjects during taking multiple portrait image format will make it more difficult to blend with any panoramic stitching programs.
A thing I learnt is that when you're taking panoramic shot against the sun hold down the ae-l to get each shot evenly exposed instead of the first frames being light then dark in the middle and light again. And I found overshooting by up to 50% on each frame makes the stitching process easier.
Yes - that is why I use manual exposure program and focused the lens manually. All I did is shoot then move the tripod head to the left / right very little then shoot.
25% image overlay makes the progress much faster. :)
Thanks for the tutorial. This motivated me to go shoot panoramic too. I just have a few ?s. What focal length did you use to avoid the fish eye effect? And in which metering mode?
superb..:)

I have done all steps like in video, but I couldn't use "warp" function. Why?
aviyohay 3 years ago
The warp function is available in Photoshop CS3 and CS4 only. Or you haven't merge the linked layers into one same layer.
