  • when i die, i want this playing at my funeral.....

  • Love Joe Walsh, I'm not sure about that drummer though. Walk away has such a neat little drum beat and this guy did just basic 4/4 beat through the entire song.

  • @RICHIEV333 It's not the drummer. Joe totally changed up the turn around riff. The drummer had no choice. The cool drum riff went with the cool guitar break that Joe didn't do.

  • @RICHIEV333 Joe made this one so generic, that all the drummer could do was keep the beat.

  • we're all lucky Joe is such a kind, peaceful, funny kinda guy otherwise alsmot none of The Eagles would ever play together again it seems. Joe seems willing to play for just about anyone, even though he deserves the best

  • love it!

  • love it!

  • love it!

  • Up yours frye, your one stuck up sob. Walsh I see why you'll broke up the first time, you got tired of kicking frye boys azz. Walsh Rules!

  • the f**king wedding drummer should learn the song..

  • @flippyflyer uhhhh....he did.

  • Thank god Joe got sober when he did--hate to have lost him

  • Joe Walsh...Bluesy, funny, one helluva fantastic entertainer...thanks for the vid.

  • Glenn Frey and Joe performed as "Party of 2" and no other Eagles were involved however, Felder heard about it and was not pleased he was again bypassed from performing with the band in some way

  • Saw them at Cominsky Park with Santana.Half of Chicago was there.Great.

  • It's all talent dudes./ But this was coming from a different time. Times more simple. Joe is special.

  • I saw Joe and James Gang in 1972 .... Joe was hammered before the show started and nearly folded at least a couple times in the first song.

They had a guy come out and prop him up for a while......................trooper though he straightened himself out and played the whole show.

  • Joe was reinventing his amps & guitars in the 60's & 70's himself. Joe doesn't remember alot from those years but when he was partying his ass off he was still very smart & accurate with what he did musically!!!! I read an interview from Guitar Musician magazine, I would say early 70's and he described how he changed his Marshall Amps & guitars to tweek his sound. He is no dummy, just sounds stoned.

  • @redhead5150 huh? Joe is the way he is, he always talks like that, but he's more funny in later years then the James Gang ones of course, but he did seem to be more amusing during the Barnstorm period

  • AHHHH GREAT MEMOERYS

    OF TIME

  • saw this Frey and Walsh in Charlotte in 92 or 93. Frey puked 2 dozen times due to a stomach ulcer or something. Walsh carried the show and played every instrument on the stage. Friggin awesome.

  • WoW! I was at that one, too! Didn't Joe say something about Glen eating some "bad french fries" at the hotel?

  • can't remember that part. i was in the front row to the right side of the stage. joe played most of the show standing 10 feet in front of me but all i remember is the great music. he talked to the crowd several times i think.

  • @nohuiam Frey did suffer from an ulcer, in Don Felder's book you can read the gory road stories!

  • Joe Walsh was at his best in the late 1960 and early 1970s

  • That's bull. Joe lives or at least relives his heydays right now. His playing is now technically excellent, much more accurate than in the 70's not to mention the 60's!!

  • saw them in orlando 99' EXCELLENT!!!

  • love it love it love it!

  • to each his/her own

  • what is it about glenn frey that kills the rock and roll soul?

  • Glenn Frey cant rock. Its a fact.

  • sure he can, "Already Gone", "Outlaw Man", "Out of Control", plus his solos on "Tryin", "Earlybird" and "Get Over It".

  • The Jonas Bros are racist.

  • Seems like some of the guys don't know the song. The look on Joe's face on the first chourus says so to me. Interesting version though. I guess I'm more of a purist.

  • Thanks for posting this vid of Joe and Glenn together...nice to see them having a little fun!

  • joe walsh is awesome. i luv him

  • i agree with You!

  • My Dad just recently turned me on to Joe Walsh's music and let me tell you I'm glad he did. The Dude can play.

  • If your dad happens to have a copy of the first Barnstorm album (Joe's first band after The Games Gang), give it a couple of dozen listens, and stop listening to The Jonahs Bros.

  • I'll continue to listen to whatever I like. For the record it's spelled Jonas not Jonahs.

  • who cares?

  • I believe I wasn't talking to you.

  • Jonah's brothers got no talent, this is talent!! If you weren't brainwashed you'd know it.

  • Dude first of all it's The Jonas Brothers not Jonah's Brother. Second I love Joe Walsh and I'm pretty Knowledgeable when it comes to music. I'm in no way brainwashed you idiot. Just because I like a certain band that you don't like doesn't mean I know nothing about music. Think before you speak, moron.

  • This is unbelieveable that some of you guys think that this version sucks when probably it is a better version than the James Gang one. Not that i am going to downgrade the James Gangs version it was the start of a genious song like this. I went to 2 concerts on their LROOE tour 1 in NYC and the other in Hershey PA. When this song started everyone standed and went just as crazy as when he started to play lifes been good. Every eagles song is genious.

  • Wow Joe looked like that? Look at him now maybe I too can eat Jenny Craig? At the Y even then go dancing at the G spot. :)

A sick mind is a terrible thing to waste lol

    PLEASE No arguements ok

  • A sober Uncle Joe, its almost like a Kareoke version of the song with all the backing music..Joe used to blow this song with only ONE guitar..see sometimes Less is more!

  • The James Gang, featuring Joe Walsh!!!

  • Man, the Eagleized version of this tune blows!

  • Well, truth be told the very best version the great Joe W ever did of "Walk Away" was a live recording, from the album "You cant argue with a sick mind". This 6 song album features no where on youtube as far as I can see. I've mislaid my own vinyl copy. It is a 5 star classic.

  • "Well, truth be told" it was the worst version he'd done up to that point, then there was the Eagles, but this version may actually be worse. I can't help it, when someone recommends locating a record that's potentially dissappointing, I want to warn people.

  • Cathoderoy, can you possibly be serious? "You cant argus with a sick mind" is a supERB 6 track live recording from Joe Walsh. Granted, the Version of "Rocky MW" is not the best, but the other five tracks on YCAWASM are STAND out. And it's Walk Away, the Best Walk away of them all.

  • FUCK YOU MIDNIGHTREVUE you dont have any clue about real music. i bet you play like crap and dont be so arrogant and stupid Henley and Frey made music history and you are a nothing compared to this guys

    SHUT UP

  • How many real fans out there have the Yer LP, James Gang Rides Again, Thirds, and Live in Concert('71)? I played them all today as it's drummer Jim Fox;s 61st birthday today 8-24-08!

  • was this off a dvd..if so which one?

  • i love joe walsh's guitar its amazing :)

  • Hell yes its Joe Walsh! Listened and loved since birth! If only i was older and seen him live younger. But still Joe has got to be one of the best, he puts so much soul in it! Being a guitarist most my life i've tried my hardest to base my playing on The Walsh way. Rock on Joe!

  • Meh! I'm all for changing it up for live performances, but it's almost an entirely different song, with the chorus morphing to 'In the City'. Got to see Joe perform live back in the 80's, and he rocked the show, but this ... not so much.

  • however bad this is..joe's the main dude.

  • walk away is sooo gay when they do this crap... can't they just crunch it properly :(

  • hey joe, just because you got older doesn't mean you have to become mellow and lame. break out the les paul, find a new drummer, dump glen frey. the only way this could worse is if don henley was on the drum kit

  • i agree with lioneltwain22... no jiz ... and i LOVE all that is joe walsh.

  • Great Song, just needs a loud dirty Les Paul, more drum fills, less organ and most certainly less Glen Frey.

  • I wish someone would pull that strat away (nothing against strats) but you need a Les Paul, a real guitar!

  • Holy Lord does this suck. He needs the James Gang back in a bad way. No Jiz. Jizless music

  • Who EVER said I don't bow before Jesus? Or that I do? But mostly, from all I know about the guy (and that's actually quite a bit), He wouldn't talk to ANYONE the way you do. But He would forgive you for doing so; and for being a generally intolerant, judgemental asswipe.

  • Joe is the MAN!

  • AWESOME-BY- NO MEANS!!! wish I wuz there!...can't help but wonder if Joe and Glenn,...are'nt singin abt the same chick here as in the more recent busy-bein-fab hit!

  • AWESOME!

  • Dude, let the other dude choose his God or god or G-d for himself. Now shut da fuck up and listen to the music - I think we've all had about enough of being told who to worship!

  • Goddamn you need to shut up. They oughta bring back christian lion-feedings.

  • Anyone have the video, or audio of when James Gang was on Howard Stern performing this song in August 2006? Great version !

  • Thanks for posting this upload. Joe "The Bomber" Walsh looks great-healthy too! Rock

    on Joe!

  • JOE WALSH IS GOD !!!

  • Joe is my God!!!!!!!!!

  • we all know he is the best.anyone disputing this knows fuck all bout guitarists

  • It's GLENN Frey

  • how about they are both the gods

  • no, i was saying, in the decription it says, Joe Walsh and GleN Frey, its supposed to be GleNN Frey

  • no, i was saying, in the decription it says, Joe Walsh and GleN Frey, its supposed to be GleNN Frey

  • hey kalkman1972, Eagles arent shit. theyre one of the most talented bands. and by the way, Joe Walsh isnt know to be a "powerrocker" anyways...if you want that stuff go listen to Iron Maiden and dont complain

  • Just check the original, and decide for yerself! And I don't mean Iron Maiden if I mean power rock, i mean WALK AWAY BY THE JAMES GANG!!!!

  • yes buddy ive herd the original many times. this doesn't sound much 'lighter' at all. give your head a shake.

  • Frey an Walsh do a great job but that drummer just blows it. He just tears it down to the bear minimum. Just a time keeper. Jimmy Vox played as a band member not just a time keeper. Great performance but that drummer is disappointing.

  • You're kalkman, doesn't quite have the same punch as the original and does sound eagley. That being said I still grin ear to ear when Joe cuts loose. No worries about people docking ya points, you wouldn't have come if you didn't like Joe.

  • that drummer is Scott Crago who is the Eagles drummer when Henley isn't playing drums. The truth is this is a live JOE WALSH concert not a live EAGLES concert and Joe likes to have fun during his concerts, he doesn't strive for the perfection the Eagles strive for during their concerts.

  • Did you see the James Gang version? Live but far closer to "perfect" than this. Jimmy Vox is just a better drummer. A musician as opposed to a click track.

  • I wish they would've released a DVD from their joint tour before the Eagles reunion....more real, less processed than the actual Eagles nowadays

  • joe + glenn, my two fave eagles together, thanks a lot for this vid.
