Interesting. It looks like only the bolt-on leading edge panel is damaged; an easy fix. Now if the wing spar-the structural member of the wing-was damaged that would have been an astronomical repair bill. I assembled 737s at Boeing a few years ago.
It looks like the container is a few feet outside the marked parking area, but still the pilot shouldn't have hit it. Maybe he was unaware that the 737-800 has wings 5' 2" longer than the 737-600 and -700. SAA has no -700s
The truck looked parked perfectly fine. Looks like its the pilots fault. Even if, and it is a long shot, but even if the truck was just a foot or two where he shouldn't have been, you kinda think the pilot would heed way. I don't know. Looks like pilot's fault.
Must have been the ground crews fault, unless the pilot wasn't using the taxiway centreline which I find hard to believe. Ground equipment must be kept in designated areas away from moving aircraft.
@Neutrinoghost yea im with you on that,I believe someone sat the container past the line. wich interfered with the space of the taxiway, thats a no no!
If you look at the ground at about 38 seconds into the clip, you will see there is a white line around the area where the trailers are parked. It is clear that the trailer that was hit was outside that white line, the fault is that of the moron who parked it there, not the pilot.
@rockrag "Are you a fool?" - let me ask you a question - Are you an internet maggot who's dick is so small that the only way you can feel good about your pathetic life is to be a bitch on YouTube? Because that is what you are behaving like. Oh I see you are French, that explains it. You have to act tough on YouTube as in real life you are a cheese eating surrender monkey. Now unless you want to talk tough to my face go fuck off back to you coward hole dick head.
I'm surprised that the plane didn't knock the second container ha ha, a proud south African welcome then BANG that pilot must have had being smoking pot!!

as long as the aircraft is on the centerline, the pilots go home no questions asked, to be ready for next flight.
