i have one of these, its an acer aspire 4920g with 2gb ram and 250gb hard drive. i got it for free ;) acer made a mistake and when i sent my old laptop for repairs they sent my old 1 back and this new 1 aswell :)

I have the Acer 4920 and it SUCKS...BIG TIME.

That piece of shit keeps getting blue screened and than auto shuts down and I end up having to redo all my Photoshop and AutoCAD files because it wasn't saved.

Happened to me more than 10 times already...Pisses me off...it just hang up on me just down.

Advice to those getting a new Laptop...DON'T GET AN ACER...it will screw up within a couple of months.

If you haven't already gotten rid of it try Ctrl F10 or Alt F10 to set the system to it's factory default. Note that this will wipe off all your data so back it up. But this seems more like a operating system problem rather than a hardware problem. And this is from personal experience.

Yeah if you have like a gigabyte of virii. The only reason why ur acer suck is because you suck, keep it up to date, get a realtime av protection software, and get a life ya loser.

I've used the 5920, 7720, and the new 6920's, and they're all awesome. You can create CD's from the eRecovery on the system. If you're not able to successfully create the CD's on your system then Acer allows customer's to order CD's by request with in 30 days of your registering your purchase date for your computer.

i had the worst experience with acer erecovery dont buy a laptop unless they give you solid cd's for windows and drivers.

How so, I got one for my dad. I mean yeah $500 is cheap for a 14 inch, but I only got 1GB of RAM, and a 1.6GHz Pentium, runs very slowly, and problem is the max for RAM is 2GB! Let's not forget build quality!

I see what we you mean the specs that you posted aren't the best especially for vista but mine came with a dual core and with the ram maxed out which runs fine on vista. But If I wanted build quality I would have gone with HP and payed like 200 more for the same specs...... Just be more careful with it; like buy a case. Remember you get what you payed for. And as a status update it's been 6 month and my Acer is still running strong.

I mean Acer is doing a bit better, but I would ask for higher quality materials. It's all the small things like keyboard flex, and lid top sag. How does yours run anyways, mine runs on the slow side, and HOT!

Yea the quality of the lower end models aren't the best. Like my keyboard seems too flimsy but it's good enough for me though. My laptop runs pretty cool i normally keep it pretty ventilated and it's pretty zippy for regular use but i have 1.5GB of RAM which can make a hell of a lot difference in vista compared to 1GB.

This is not a bad laptop, It's my first laptop, I use it everyday, it's durable, very cool looking, and I paid about 700 dollars for it,

It's just a basic,fun laptop, nothing fancy.

It's vista that sucks!
