Xtreme's have the ZQ8 suspension (which provided a two inch overall drop), 16x8 split 5-spoke aluminum wheels, Goodyear 235/55/R16 tires, and the Xtreme ground effects kit with integral foglights. Colored rally stripes or "Heat" graphics were optional.

You could get it on any S10 (except crew-cab) with any drive train that was offered for the truck.

Ya my friend the 4.3 is a pushrod engine with the camshaft in the block not a Overhead Cam Engine.. Now if they would make the 4.3 DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder it might put out about 240 or 250 horsepower or so and turn about 7000 rpm which would be really nice..lol.

them 60's sound good on that 4.3. i would like to have a 4.3 5spd extreme to go with my camaro. that backfiring is probably coming from ur exhaust manifolds. my camaro backfired real bad until i put hooker headers on it. so its all that smog bullshit that runs with it. but im pretty sure if u put headers on it. you'll pick up about 15 to 30 horse plus it'll sound even more bad a**.

nice extreme man love the sound, these people underestimate the 4.3l idk it's a 350 with 2 cyl shaved. Even with the cats it would backfire my 97 does regardless of which exhaust i have on it. Wish i had you front lip and the thrid shock on the axel, but nice truck man well put together.

Um, no. Xtreme was only an appearance package. They came on base and LS, as well as 2.2 or 4.3 models.

the xtreme was also tuned, came with shorter gears in the rear end (sometimes) and included all that trim and some good shocks

Xtreme was only an appearance package that required the ZQ8 suspension option (which you could get without the Xtreme package). Neither package had anything to do with the engines. My Xtreme has a 4.3L W engine, my buddies Xtreme has the 4.3L X engine.

Might have a little diffent tone depending on how long the truck is and how the pipes are run.. and pipe size and kinds of bends and alot of other factors.. But yeah overall similar sound would be acheived..

umm..i would recommend a 40 series flowmaster..dumped off either behind or in front of the rear axle..i cut my pipes off..so i sounds alot better i think..
