  • Fantastic review!

  • hey john do you think the new Beatles anthology remasters are going to be worth getting?

  • i like how creative this was, but i'd like to see you get into more detail about one of the greatest albums made by the beatles just my opinion

  • Hahaha, The Oasis burn is brilliant:D

  • I love how you mixed in the lyrics "your day breaks, Your mind achs." that was a nice touch. your awesome!

  • @AestheticFlavor

AIFF and ALAC are both lossless encoders, so they both are exact representations of the audio of the CD.

The main difference will be in file sizes. Try ripping the same album with both encoders and comparing sizes. Obviously, the smaller, the better.

I know ALAC's can be played on iPods, not sure about AIFF.

  • 0:28 There's a black and white photo of (who looks like to me) John, Paul, someone's back, and Mick Jagger? Not sure though.

  • @mrfunkyrocks727 yep, that's mick. god eye!

  • @mrfunkyrocks727 yep, that's mick. good eye!

  • This video is brilliant and right on. During late night weekend reruns of CSI episodes, the pharmaceutical company noted for "Depression hurts" runs their spots 5 to 6 times an hour to the point where, if you were happy, you'd be as sad as the folks in the commercial. At last, the video antidote is available here... You Go, John Montagna!

  • lol! I think Revolver is the greatest album ever.

  • Boy that was hilarious! I have to agree. Revolver still sounds 1000 times better than most of the crap that passes for music these days. There are exceptions like St. Vincent, Gogol Bordello, Fleet Foxes and Eugene McGuinness. But, the business has lost sight of important things like: strong melodies, interesting lyrics, imaginary arrangements, thoughtful instrumentation, and an honest committment to creating something truely enriching and soulful.

  • Revolver is 1000 times better than most of today's crap music.

LOL so true and so funny.

  • @Dodo251 as george carlin says, "sometimes in comedy you have to generalize."

  • @johnmontagnamusic You like George Carlin?

  • hey johnmontagnamusic what u think of the clash then? amazing band as well right?

  • No Difference, They Are Both Uncompressed Lossless Codecs (Lossless = Bit For Bit Copy Of A CD, So No Quality Is Lost). I Believe Apple Created AIFF And Windows, WAV.

  • I've NEVER realized that the '' You're day breaks , you're mind aches '' was in a song until i brought the '' Revolver '' album from Best Buy a month or two. P.S., Oasis is a copy from '' Revolver ''. Peace and love and a great video.

  • Great vid!! Very amusing.

    Thanks

  • What difference does importing the CD as an AIFF instead of an MP3 make and should this be done on all the remasters or is it better sounding solely on Revolver? Thanks.

  • it's a difference that is mainly noticed by audio snobs like myself. not sure about it from album to album, will have to investigate.

  • @PikminandOlimar

AIFF is a lossless format, in that it doesn't lose any quality from the CD and is an exact representation. The file size however is much larger. MP3 (a lossy format) was created to give as best representation of the CD as possible but at a fraction of the file size. There is definantely a difference in audio quality, but at the end of the day, it's down to the listener on how accurate a copy of their audio to be and how they listen to their music.

  • What about apple lossless?

  • You made me happy inside!

    Glad I found you today.

  • This made me so happy!

I just found your reviews n stuff today, n I'm very glad I did.

  • You think Green Day is crap?

  • i needed to show a quick clip of something that represented "newer music;" i don't necessarily think GD is crap, but i'm not a huge fan either so i didn't mind using them in this way. i'm just a snob, but i can be easily persuaded to check out anything that someone recommends.

  • Ok, um.... if you want to hear Green Day at their best listen to 21st Century Breakdown tracks like Before The Lobotomy, Last Night On Earth and 21 Guns. I'm open to try almost any music. But of course....... nothing is better than the boys!

  • i'm with ya John

  • Your day breaks, your mind aches!!!!:p

    Fantastic review!

  • I would love to see more reviews, hear more Jill, and especially more bloopers!!

  • Hey John and Francesca, you really made laugh! Great!

I suppose you are half italian, ciao from italy.

    Roberto

  • buon giorno roberto! sono italiano di 100%, ma la mia figlia è a metà italiana! bene grazie JM

  • D: i bought the regualr CD one before i knew of the remastered albums, WHYYY D:....:D oh well, i guess its worth the money to re-buy revolver :D (and sgt pepper)

  • how do you import the songs as AIFF

  • you can see it in the video: go to iTunes "preferences," click "general" and near the middle of the window you'll see a button for "import settings." click it, and near the top of the new window is a drop-down menu where you can choose mp3, wav, aiff, etc. go for it!

  • great video well done!!!!

  • your wife has an amazing voice. perfect for this style of vid. great work. where'd ya get the cartoon beatles dvds?

  • What's with this dissing Green Day thing?? Green Day shouldn't be in the list of crap these days. Every other new band should but not Green Day. Green Day isn't just a dumb fake phony suck up like most of the bands now. Green Day is REAL!!!!

  • You don't know, your just a judgmental person. Why do you think they suck??

  • Just my opinion. I see from your channel you're a fan. I did like them 15 years ago. No longer interested.

  • Amen

  • Apple should hire you. Not that they need much promotion to pimp the remasters but still. You keep raising the bar. Can you keep it up?

  • I second that!

  • This is AWESOME :D Your wife does an amazing voice-over (and you make an amazing video). Eleanor Rigby is probably my favorite Beatles song :) Well done!

  • "Brit Pop= Beatles in 1966"=LoL!

  • OMG! Your are genius, man! This is brilliant. Is that your wife or girlfriend at the end there? Is she a Beatard, as well?

I agree. The remaster of Revolver sounds incredible! The harmonies on Here, There, and Everywhere are godly.

  • two thumbs up! Is AIFF really better than apple lossless?

  • nice

  • Very creative and original video. Loved it and wife has a natural female voice over voice.

  • Awesome :)

  • You kids are so funny.

  • so funny!
