you deserve to be famous as you are a god with ableton! but i dont want you to be famous because you wont have enough time to make awesome tutorials. :D
Hi, I have a question, hope u can help: I have a big problem with the latency with Ableton and the Axiom61. I play piano mainly and use the Axiom to trigger some backup tracks and samples, butI can't get the piano sound on time, it's always delayed =( Thanks...
ANybody who can help? I have Ableton 7 and I installed Nexus 2 vts. I have M-audio Axiom pro. When I open the program ( Ableton) and load a patch from Nexus,,I try to play some notes,,I can see that ableton is getting the Midi messages from my midi keyboard but I have no sound whatsoever. I checked the Audio out in ableton Audio preferences tap and it's set correctly to my Digi firwire 002.
i realize this might be a little much to ask, but you might consider putting one of your tracks up for download, not as an mp3 but as an ableton live project, that way people could download it and open it up and take their time closely examining each aspect of the track and learning that way
@theDan91 For sure mate. I agree, that's the best way to learn. I'll be putting templates of many of my tracks up on my new site. They'll be a paid product. Seeing as none of us make money from our music anymore, there are limits to what musicians can give for free. If you'd like a copy of the template, let me know.
@DJVespers makes complete sense. i'll keep an eye out for postings then. thanks again for all the help. all of us trying to learn the basics surely appreciate it
thanks from me to you for the very informative, & INTERESTING ! tutorials most of all "remixing Gaga in Ableton Live" - they have been so very useful even for someone who has been producing music for a looong time (Cubase 3.1 on an Atari St !!!!) It makes so much difference when the tutorials are relevant to current styles of production and the track used in the tutorial is a polished piece of music which sounds Phat - thus making the end product something that a user wishes to achieve :)
ive just got ableton 7 live and im struggling with the real basics. Where can i get more samples, how do i lay down a good bass line, how do i then make a really great synth? Id like to produce trance and house tunes, but have no idea where to start. The abletone written tutorials arnt helping me at all
@AnjunaboyJR Hey mate. Sample: Get them by buying Live Packs or sample CDs online. Basslines & Synths: That's a BIG question. Tough to answer in a comment box. Mainly, make instrument racks by layering synths for phat basses and synths. As for writing music in general, find a producer you like and get them to teach you. Watch lots of tutoirals on Youtube. That'll get ya there. Be patient and put in your time. Cheers!
@AnjunaboyJR Just keep on practicing. It can be frustrating in the beginning but really every minute you spend exploring the program pays off in the end.
Nice werk my northern brother from another mother. I really appreciate your attitude and your willingness to teach. I learned the trade from a guy who was willing to show me what he knew and I taught him the limited stuff I knew and now we are rocking clubs doing what we lvoe to do. Knowledge is key, no need to reinvent the wheel every time I lay down a new track.
@ne12call Hey mate. Yeah, totally on the same page. Mentorship and exchange of knowledge is the best way to learn IMO. I had a couple of wicked teachers to help me get started and continue to learn from some of the best in the industry. I'm really thankful for having access to these people. Cheers!
Finally someone that realizes, just being shown a finished track from start to finish can be the biggest help you can ever get when first enterting the production scene.
these vids were great, could you stop using the 20 second intro's they go for way too long and eat up un necisary downloads especially when you use them twice in one video, 40 seconds of VESPERS VESPERS VESPERS vespers Vespers VESPERS VEEEESPERS
@jojo191519 Tell you what. I don't mind shortening them up....but I feel this comment is a little on the ungrateful side as this is usually content you have to pay for. Any idea how long it took me to make these videos...for free? If you want to buy my vids, I'd be happy to send them to you with no promo intro and outro.
@DJVespers i understand where your coming from and i am grateful just like everyone else who commented below me, hence i started with "these vids were great" cheers for putting in so much time at your own expense. i just didnt see the need to have 40 seconds of "vespers" per video. if you see my point :)
Can't say thanks enough for being so open to sharing your knowledge with the community...it's very much appreciated. Hopefully I can learn enough to one day be able to pay it forward!
Hey bro, thank you very much for this video! Seems you are from Canada as well. Nobody here in Toronto seems to be much interested in the Electronic scene! do you live in toronto?
@nikkm58 Thanks for your feedback. Let me explain...normally you'd have to pay for complete HD content like this, but I kept it free for you. I do that so I can also build awareness about myself and my music. Fair trade? I think so. I'd be happy to sell you downloads without any of the intro...but I expect you'd prefer free ;)
Thank you sooo much ! i m "producing " too and im always thankful for people who really want to share their knowledge. and i mean really share ! many of those others hardly try too keep things secret while showing their aragements and stuff ... or telling some "bla bla mixing techniques" wich do not help anyway..so tahnks and big ups for you ! keep on doing this im looking forward too learn MORE from you . would love to read some kritics from you according my lil track on my channel! cheers !

"If my ability as a music producer relied on knowing a couple of trade secrets, I wouldn't really be much of a music producer."
Very poetic words of wisdom and you have a very admirable philosophy on teaching. You are an inspiration, Vespers!
