Good work Manu. I am working on the same problem here in BC Canada. We try to teach people because the problem originates in peoples minds and that is where the problem can be solved.

They expend more energy to create larger eggs, which are more likely to survive. This basically kills them though. See Crespi and Teo 2002 for more detailed info on recent findings. How semelparity evolved is still a mystery for the most part.
