  • 'From the Mysterious Reaches of Infinity'? OK.

    A 'Metallic Vampire'? Why not?

    Love old sci-fi movies.

  • Stupidly funny!!

  • pretty good for back in 1957 and looks very respectable when played on a modern blu-ray player. the worst part of the filming was when kronos is going across the countyside, it looks like a black and white cartoon drawing. I still like it and think the main actors should have gotten a bit of praise for their work. it,s not "Oscar" level stuff, but also in those days sci-fi was not considered being worth any official praise by the industry.

  • I'm just not sure if I actually want to be "Emotionally" Assaulted... that sounds very painful...

  • 0:04 SUPAH SMASH BRATHARS BRAWL

  • Godzilla will destroy such a corny machine!

  • Oh NO!! Not that same V2 rocket stock footage used in countless cheesy sci fi movies.. I guessThe V2 rocket design is favored by aliens and humans alike :)) lol

  • The aliens sent us a giant washer/dryer to do our laundry, but we had to shoot first.

  • @jeff2all In the movie the husbands tell their wives to shut down the washer/dryer, which is why it runs rampant...

  • Ghoulardi was a lot like Ernie Kovacs -- flamboyant and ahead of his time.

  • I first saw this in 1961 on TV 8 in Cleveland, OH. Thank you, Ghoulardi!

  • @mickeymousebiker1

Me too. On the Friday night show..

  • I saw it a number of times on TV, and I recently acquired a copy by mail order of this movie. It was one of the things in my earlier days that shaped my psyche.

  • @EmmetEarwax Our condolences...

  • must.watch.this.movie. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how did i get here?

  • I'd rather watch Gorgo :P

  • The Americans don't learn from the Japanese. Military might on monsters do not work!

  • @ZSwierczynski unless you use the maser!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • never heard of this until now.

  • One of my favorites.

  • Isn't that the Citicorp building?

  • Yeah, the old stuff scared the crap out of us. We were young and fresh and open to many things new. Today we get brainwashed by what they present to us to view. The Crawling Eye was a slow movie but for the time it scared us. Plan nine, now that was a classic movie and probably rated as a B movie. Too bad Bella died while it was being made...

  • I hail from the mysterious reaches of infinity myself, so I can appreciate Kronos as an antihero. Also, the way Barbara Lawrence's eyes go from left to right at 01:06: I'd like to see one of your Maggie Gyllenhaalls or your Charlese Therons pull that off.

  • Jeff Morrow had the funniest line in ALL SCIENCE FICTION movies in this one: As KRONOS is going across Mexico, Jeff points to the sky and says; "Look, the Mexican Air Force!" Then implies the M.A.F. will destroy the machine---the Mexican AF planes are old P-15 Mustangs! LOL!

  • I remember this movie Kronos and also The Magnetic Monster. Both decent movies.

  • Back when movies were good

  • i remember this movie when i was a kid, it scared the shit out of me !

  • Jeff Morrow. It's Exeter...Doug Exeter!

  • Barbara Lawrence looked really hot

  • i want to know how the mythical kronos looks like not this kronos.

  • SciFi: It does not get any better than this!

  • WHY DO WE HAVE TO SEE AN ADVERTISEMENT BEFORE THE CLIP??????????

THAT IS REALLY ANNOYING; YA KNOW, LIKE THE REPUBLICANS!

  • I bought this DVD years ago. The story is full of implausible holes but the giant alien robot is very very cool and ominous, and the movie has some very unique and well done special effects. I love this one.

  • This remains one my favorite films - I saw it as a kid and it still never fails to impress. Jeff Morrow (THE ROBE, THIS ISLAND EARTH) was solid, and so was a cast including John Emery (as the alien's catspaw), George O'Hanlon (he voiced George Jetson!) and sexy Barbara Lawrence (OKLAHOMA!). It was co-written by FORBIDDEN PLANET'S Irving Block, and the music is sweet. And let's face it - any sci-fi movie with a mythic Greek reference is headed in the right direction.

  • @MrAlienscribe JEFF was a technical illustrator who went to pratt school of design he draws kronos on the blackboard [ he said technical illustration is boreing compared to acting ]

  • @MrAlienscribe Yes, this is an excellent movie. I remember how Kronos propelled itself. It's a very impressive movie. The real deal.

  • The "metalic vampire" was twice the size of the ship that it travelled in!! The old movies had no concept of scale. look at king kong!!

  • @scottval321 thank u at least some one gets me

  • i love how he pronounces it Kronus

  • WTF TFF ROFL

  • Kronos a monster robot hmm! I remember this years back I think on Sky Movies Gold me & a few friends often thought what if Kronos ran into Godzilla

    GODZILLA Vs KRONOS

  • I wish Kronos would come drain all the juice out of my noisy neighbors stereo!!

  • kronos is so mean. it would even destroy the internet.

  • i'm shocked and afraid.

    a flying tupperware.

    great.

    tip: the astounding she monster.

  • ROFL! OLD MOVIES ARE SO HILARIOUS

  • kKKRONOSss

  • a metalic vampire you have to be f****ing kidding me

  • DON'T MAKE FUN. THIS REALLY HAPPENNED!!

  • KRONOS! A Vanguard of...Random Punctuation Marks!...in the Middle of...THE SENTENCE!

  • @AuburnAttack21 *

    LOL

    Nice one.

  • It drains all energy so its like an air conditioner

  • The attack of the killer tinkertoy!

  • ive seen the film length film, kill me , now..........please, ill pay you

  • It was a fun movie- I love the "pre-incarnate George Jetson" too, hidden behind those glasses.

  • Wait, wasn't this the password in "The Incredibles"?

  • @wrestlingfan438 It was indeed.

  • One of the funniest lines in any SCI FI movie is when one of the scientists looks up into the sky and says' "Look! The MEXICAN AIR FORCE!" A squadron of P-51s is what we see and ya can guess what Good Old KRONOS does to the P-51s of the "Mexican Air Force"

  • I saw this when I was young. This has to make the top ten Lame Monster list.

  • @stayjit1 I like the design. It's weird enough to alien.

  • @stayjit1 jit1 I like the design. It's weird enough to alien.Besides this Marvel got Galactus from

  • Does this remind anyone of Godzilla vs. Hedorah, aka The Smog Monster? How the monster sucks out human resources to become powerful?

  • Kronos was the father of Zeus, right?

  • @Tamarrack That's right. He was leader of the Titans, castrated his father to take over the universe and swallowed his own children to stop them repeating the cycle. Generally, a very evil bastard.

  • @Tamarrack i don't know

  • @Tamarrack Yea, then Zeus banished him to tartarus I think... or he killed him.

  • I saw this repeatedly on TV in the '60s, as a kid, and was extremely unimpressed. I still am unimpressed.

I did recognized the mass panic scenes as having been filmed here on Oahu, Hawaii, although they were supposed to be in Mexico and S. Cal. in "Kronos". A few years later I saw "The Revolt of Mamie Stover" (1956) and understood that they were outtakes from the Pearl Harbor attack sequence in that film.

At 1:48, that's a pineapple field in central Oahu.

  • Hands up! its.. KRONOS!

  • I own a DVD of this gem. I love the Walter Lantz animation.

  • Those rockets they fired looked like german v2's to me LOL

  • @Harajesejarah You are correct sir. They were V2's under US control, on the ready to shoot down UFOs.

  • One from the vaults!

  • shashsuashuahsushausah good movie hehe

  • Wow, almost forgot about this gem!

I actually enjoy this movie. It does show how far animation has come since the 1950s. ;)

This movie is one of many that employed the usual practice of showing off US military might and the fear of Soviet nuclear power (often masked as aliens) during the Cold War. Propaganda-but fun propaganda!

  • Its the SUNY Stony Brook Medical Center, with High Voltage Energy suckers coming to steal our energy and coming for yoooooooo!

  • @Beamshipcaptain HAHA!!

  • If only we could reverse the polarity!

(perhaps by diverting the impulse engine's anti-matter into the deflector shield?)

That's all we have left...let's try it!

  • People's greed to exploit every last natural resource on this planet makes me wish Kronos was real and the extermination of mankind was imminent.

plus, I think I could talk Barbara Lawrence into sleeping with me before we all die (1:08)

  • So they remade this and called it Transformers, right?

  • no...

  • You'll never look at your Frigidaire the same way again . . . .

  • A machine that drains all energy on earth.

So that's Al Gore controlling it.

  • @Charles787980 drains all energy and self reliance! That would be Liberals.

  • Tupperware from Outer Space!

  • (Think Monty Python's Holy Grail) "What, behind the building?" "No, it IS the building!!!!"

  • We were attacked by a giant box? Wait...A box ON TOP of a box!!!

  • and it pwned us bad XD

  • Back then it was called KRONOS. Today it's called WAL MART SUPERCENTERS! And they are taking over you're town! You Fools! Attack of The Big Boxes!

  • wasnt this on that one movie... The Incredibles? (the name)

  • Great Ceaser's ghost!

  • The weekend of October 2 & 3rd - This will be playing @ The Redford Theater in Metro Detroit, MI - Double Feature w/ The Blob - Starring Steve McQueen...!

    Wear your Rubber Underpants!

  • Hard to believe they were putting out cheese like this put out even after Forbidden Planet was released

  • Scared the hell out of me, when I was a kid.

  • No oldyuma, that would be Fox Noise channel.

  • Kronos has evolved into CNN,ABC,MSNBC,Comedy channel(John Stewart)..etc...sucking you brains out of your skull...

  • im so scared of the horrible.... horrible.... horrible .....giant........ SHOEBOX

  • destroy kill absorb life

  • This movie and trailer hits every single 50s B-movie cliche, and does it very well. Fun. :)

  • Kronos will F you up bad and leave you an emotional cripple!!!!!

  • Get the DVD, its in REGALSCOPE widescreen! Only about $7. Loved this movie since 1968, on Creature Features, on WNEW--TV Channel5, in New York.

  • Great Ceaser's ghost! I got this on VHS! What a great movie!

  • Barbara Lawrence is hot!

  • this is actually a decent movie. i got the dvd on ebay for 5 bucks.

  • Before dvds existed some guy was making his own bootleg copies of this and one other science fiction movie on vhs tape I think he got in trouble with the law [ another guy was pressing bootleg 45s of unreleased beach boys songs on blue vinyl he was arrested ] .

  • Nice, the guy killed the scientist without getting self electrocuted. And this is the trailer :D

  • If you have actually seen the movie, you know why the guy wasn't electrocuted with the scientist.

  • Ooh! A spoiler, eh?!

  • Yes, in a way. You need to see the movie, to know!!

  • lol emotional assault... hes going to insult our mothers OOOH THE HORROR THE HORROR

  • That looks like a sinister Walt Disney at 1:18.

  • These films were done before CGI special effects with the budget, technology & knowledge of the day. Sputnik was a year away & people were very alarmed by the building of the cold war, communism, & the prospect of an atomic holocaust. We practice air alerts in school as kids. These movies were very real to us. Think about the panic following Orson Welles War of the Worlds in 38, on radio! Can't compare War of World 1953 (masterpiece & Oscar for special effects) with Spielberg's 2005 version!

  • At the begining I didn't recogonized the monster because it seems a tower, not a robot xD

  • "You'll have to be SHOCK PROOF to withstand the EMOTIONAL ASSAULT!"

You'll require years of therapy to recover from Kronos' cruel disdain, casual cruelty, and withering sarcasm!

  • Sounds more like "Kim Possible's" Shego than Kronos.

  • Might look silly now but that GIGANTIC robot scared the bejeebers out of me when I watched it on TV as a little kid. It was just so overpowering.

  • Same here. I think I saw it around 1965 when I was about 7 years old -- I was haunted for years of giant walking things coming from a distance and it's made me very astute and mindful as to what I let my young kids watch now.

Maybe that's why I also found the AT-ATs in Star Wars "freaky."

  • I have had quite exactly the same experience...seeing this as a 6 or 7 yr.-old has given me those fears, and to this day, when (for ex.) I drive or fly a long distance and see large, squarish buildings in the distance, I immediately think of Kronos moving across the landscape and crushing people...!!

  • It's the Attack of the SUNY Stony Brook medical building! Its after Yuuuuuu!!!

  • Because they have 100 favour

  • Hi, are there any full-length movies in Youtube or are they just scattered around in brief excerpts?

  • Get the widescreed DVD, its only $9.

  • thank you for introducing this magic into my life - I am humbled by the awesome might of Kronos! Master of All Time!

  • fucking heeeeel this funny

  • i thot this was about the king of the titans, but i guess as shoebox fits better?!

  • if george bush had watched this movie, he would have prepared the united states for Kronos' arrival

  • ha ha ha good one ha ha ha LOL

  • I guess "Kronos" sounds better than "Attack of the Atomic Powered VERY Large Automatic Trash Compactor."

  • huh? Kronos is the king of titans

    Greek mythology

  • I remember sitting in the empty theater so I could see this twice. I was only 10, so I didn't "get" everything with one viewing.

I think I'd watch it again today, if I could rent it. At least it wouldn't be trying to sell me crappy music during the movie.

My favorite scene is when Dr. Elliot gets his... his brains run out and start to sparkle and pop on the floor! Top that one in a Tom Cruise movie! Hah!

  • yay for a deadly animatronic shoebox!!

  • That thing is so cool!!

They should make all postal boxes exactly like that to draw

public attention back to Pre-70s sci-fi.

In a perfect world, there'd be a little Kronos on every corner!

    O.K., i'm a little "odd"...................but I stay out of trouble.......

  • A walking shoebox. Worst monster I've ever seen.

  • Oh trust me, there's much worse out there....

  • u suck

  • Thanks...I last saw part of this in 1968!! and always wondered what this film was

  • someone out there please remake this....story was ahead of its time, spfx could not do it justice.

  • how did they do that making that monster thats some good specal effects

  • I remember this movie. it looked like a walking building.

    The trailer is hilarious too.

  • It must've got that inspration from the airport tower look-out. lol...like it's alive and...watching. XD And what the hell was that at 1:26 ? it look like their about to get it on. weird

  • LOL!! If that's your idea of getting it on, I better not come over your house....LOL j/k

  • Ooooh, aren't we getting frisky. Don't worry I'll be gentle. XD
