I was raised in Pottsville and saddened by its decay when I return to see it.

Absentee landlords of direlect buildings should be fined and the property seized if it is not kept up to code then sold for 1.00 by the county with a guarantee that whoever buys it refurbishes it within 24 months.

Too bad the guy who did the Moose Hall wasn't around for the Capital Theatre which would have been one of your gems and the cornerstone of a renaissance.

Any town what wants to move forward has to look backwards. Allow Pottsville to be redeveloped based on allowing the down town area to be stripped of all its junk facades and show the true architecture. Then allow artists, crafts people and restaurants to make it another New Hope, PA.

You had a gem if you only would have kept the Capital Theatre and asked for a federal grant to restore it.
