I really like Billy Talent but what happened there sucks. Even if they didn't star this "fuck Kings of Leon" singing they could at least have tried to stop it! That's comletely irreverent! And that's the difference between them: KoL/their fans wouldn't do something like this.
This is still one of my best Reading memories.. Such a great atmosphere in the tent because everyone there were actually fans, more like a proper gig than a festival show..

You're very sceptical, probably because of my age and my taste of music. I've got different perception of Billy Talent's music and you won't change my view showing me their music from '90. I know every song of them very well also by Pezz. They've changed their style but it doesn't mean that they're sellouts. Music from II has got more audience but it was created with the same or maybe bigger passion than the less popular Watoosh or I. BT is just better than Pezz. They evolve.

On the first night KOL were headlining the main stage as the last act for the night, simoultaneously Billy Talent were doing their set, both acts were well within audial range, so billy talent fans started chanting "Fuck the Kings of Leon"
Although this wouldnt of caused much dismay, KOL were set back due to their terrible performance, and because the majority of their fans had turned up just for Sex on Fire. Eventually the fans started too boo KOL, ang they got pissed off.
Okay I am a dedicated Kings Of Leon fan and I have watched every recorded performance I can find on Youtube of them.. and they owned their set. Like, I watch the BBC Kings Of Leon videos over and over because they are so good. You are right.. some fans showed up for Sex On Fire and Use Somebody. I was at KOL (who despite being awesome, pissed me off with there arrogance and bitchy little whine because a couple of people didn't know every single album track they've done) but saw Billy Talent at Reading this year (2010) as Im a fan of both.
It was quite obvious the whole thing was just a joke, and that the band (yes band, not person) has no real problem with KOL.

By the way people. The band didnt start the chant. The audience started it. The band just went along with it. If you were actualy there you will know. As it really was the people that didnt go to KOL went to BT. It was chanted twice during the set. The first time the band was like, shhhhush guys :P. The 2nd time they jammed with the chanting lol.

There still seems to be some confusion. From what I remember, Ben, being happy they were headlining the NME tent at the same time as KoL, said something along the line of "Ya know, this is our party! Fuck the Kings of Leon." Then the crowd started chanting it and BT loved it.

On the first night KOL were headlining the main stage as the last act for the night, simoultaneously Billy Talent were doing their set, both acts were well within audial range, so billy talent fans started chanting "Fuck the Kings of Leon"
Although this wouldnt of caused much dismay, KOL were set back due to their terrible performance, and because the majority of their fans had turned up just for Sex on Fire. Eventually the fans started too boo KOL, ang they got pissed off.

Okay I am a dedicated Kings Of Leon fan and I have watched every recorded performance I can find on Youtube of them.. and they owned their set. Like, I watch the BBC Kings Of Leon videos over and over because they are so good. You are right.. some fans showed up for Sex On Fire and Use Somebody. ...and for the record, as a 'dedicated Kings Of Leon fan' should know, that KoL actually requested that the BBC didn't show the end of the Reading set, mostly because it was shit, and furthermore, the 'fans' sitting at home watching it and clips on Youtube wouldn't see how toss they were.
