I have this CD and play it all the time, especially the last movement. I love the tempo of it.

Love it - caught it on BBC Radio 3 yesterday and was convinced it was written by Shostakovich. Forgive me, but it could have been. Ordered a copy today, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra plus Peter Donohoe which will have to sustain me until I can get to a live performance.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is performing this piece during there All-Tchaikovsky concert week this December, the week of the 6th. This piece, along with Suite No. 4 and his 2nd and 3rd piano concertos will be performed by Stephen Hough.

This is certainly a lovely, haunting piece of great virtuosity. Why is it not played more publicly? It is little known in the great Tchaikowsky recordings available!
