Yeah just make sure you get one that is black with holes, with a green LED, not the colored plastic ones. The drivers are out there for you, and you may have to supply your own capture software like ULEAD or Honestech VHS to DVD, but the card works fine for Macs.

EasyCap is Windows 7 compatible. The drivers which come on the CD may not get the job done, but there are Win7 drivers available, easily found on Google. Some of these drivers may not work with the s-video input, but I'm guessing most people aren't using that, anyway.

Also, I enjoy how everyone missed the point of the joke about myself.

can somebody help???? im currently running windows 7 64 bit and im trying to install the easycap drivers. however wen i load the disk it came with and the menu opens up i click install drivers and nothing happens. the text changes colour as if it knows i clicked it but after that nothing happens, no window pops up or messages appear. it installs direct x and ulead fine but not the drivers why? also wen i load ulead it doesnt detect my easycap under the capture/source folder. inbox or reply thx.

@Drgamerify The Easycap runs into problems if you are running or installing it on windows 7, simply because the drivers are not built for windows 7. I suggest you try to install them running XP mode or use an XP computer.

I use a capture card like this plus Audials.com Tunebite capture software ($25) to "Rip" movie dvd's and music cd's legally (private use only). It is great to play movies whenever you want, copy from Hi8 tapes, copy Netflix, or play them on your phone without using up data plan gigabytes. If you go to Amazon and read the reviews from people who've actually bought this you'll see that a great many got sold units that DON'T WORK. If you get a good one, if your still running Vista/XP - it MIGHT work. That's a lot of 'if's.

Proper? EasyCAP is a proper video capture card device you fucking idiot. It only depends on what software you are using to record the video, to a certain extent. Sure the software that comes with it is complete crap, but you can use the Pinnicle Studio software in conjunction with EasyCAP and capture video fairly decently.

In this generation its all about HD and 3D, Majority of people who have EasyCaps or Dazzle100 can't afford HD capture devices otherwise they would have them. Its not about whose smart its all about the demand of quality. Trust me I started out with a $8 EasyCap then a Dazzle100 and now ended up with a $200 HD PVR and its worth the money.

Easycap is about $5-15 where Dazzle is $20-100.. You figure out which one is better. Also you have to have alot of patience when properly installing Easycap and getting it to work. Also, the Pinnacle Studio for Dazzle is WAYY Better than the "updated" Windows Movie Maker Studio otherwise known as Ulead that EasyCap did. >__<
