Benga, Coki, Loefah, Skream, etc created dubstep. They passed the figurative torch to Rusko, Caspa, Joker, Silkie, Eskmo, etc. They passed that torch to DatsiK, Excision, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Nero, SkisM, etc. Of course you're going to hear parts of songs that sound like another artists. When dubstep evolved, some synths from previous styles remained.

You can hear highs lows mids and distortion played together in different ways to create sick ass melodies. Older dubstep was like that. Before U.S. seen it.
