I met Jeff once. I wish I could bottle even the smallest amount of his positivity and creativeness. The free dose he gave us lasted for a while, but I'm needing a fix!!
@saxman119 Not completely in 4/4. There are subtle time changes, but definitely one of their more playable tunes for someone sitting at a drum kit or someone on bass who can get the riff. Great band!
I saw them here in Charleston 2 days ago and this was my favorite... they were great!! Met Jeff and band mates at the end of the show and they all were very nice! Great band.
Lot's of musical historical references through their musicianship that pays homage to those who innovated sounds and compositions and performance levels. It's ashamed that Woody, Trane , Art Tatum, Ray Brown, Eddie Harris, Miles, Wes, and Bird didn't have the technologies to document similar videos.
incredible. jeff fundamentally is one of the best musicians in the world. this song really showcases that even though its repetitive it can still have plenty of moments of both groove and sizzle.
Next week til i get to meet him let alone take a class with him. AMAZING performer. get to see him next friday and see him perform an epic concert were he will most likely pull out his double sax :D
@metallica04100 Thats awesome. He's AMAZING. he did this thing were he pulled out the neck of the sax and played the same tune that he was playing on his normal sax.
Those altissimo glissandos drive me nuts! Such a cool and aggressive technique that goes to show just how flexible tone and intonation can be. And the rest of the band is equally incredible. I have yet to hear a song from Mu'tet that I did not like.
OMG I am blown away !!!!!! I just got back from seeing this band tonight !!!!! I was TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!! BTW Kofi told me that this song is in F.
like it alot ...well in.Horns like ZaPPA ,a Bassist ,,,well ,,,Sesame Street,,one of these kids is doin his own ting ,,,,Great ,i l ike that ....who am i to judge ?,,,,,ELI in Liverpool
I can not wait to have the Mu'tet out to our jazz festival April 1st! Please check it out! The festival is the highland jazz festival in Gilbert AZ if you would like to hear them live! I'm so excited to see them in action! Thank you JazzVideoGuy for posting this!
i thought the melody really drowned out the soloist. it seems like theyre trying to draw attention to themselves. but i guess if thats what they were going for...
