Now cjildren this was back when they where on Roosevelt Road across the street from the landry Mate. Bown the Street from Pastor Spivey and First Corthians. Does any Chicago children remember that. Sannnnnnnnng St. James
The choir is powerful. The soloist's voice pierces to the soul.
To me, Jesus is a symbol, as I don't believe in the supernatural. But His life is a model for all of us to follow - and we can never measure up. The point is to try.
The Guy Singing The Lead To Timothy Wrights Song. Should Have Sung The Lead On The Recording And The Whooping Is On Point. I Wish Church Was Like This Now.
I am over here in tears crying because of the legacy of St James COGIC, I remember sitting here in the audience and hearing them sing Forgiven, which was recorded by Dr Mattie Moss Clark and the COGIC mass choir, 4157 bring back memories Lord have mercy
and check out The "Man" himself on drums on the second song... Yepp! Jesse Campbell on drums @ 11:38 if u look really good that's Jesse on the drums! Play Man! Be Blessed Cuz!
Those were the days. St.James had the choir I would come out to the old building on Roosevelt for the broadcast and 4th Sunday Musicals, and I was a Baptist boy then. I can remeber Tina Watson singing All in the Alter, Raquita Winters Singing Surrender, Darnell Campbell singing more than Jesse, and I can't forger Goria who last name I forgot. THose were the days. Today, we almost don't know who are te lead singers. God bless.
Actually the reason why warning was posted is because the other family members I know who will see this will not be ready for it... I think they did a great job in 1983. Be Blessed!
Eld. Rodgers, why is there a "warning" on the intro of the clip? This was good church back then. As a matter of fact, the response of the people is better than what I see on the live telecast on Streaming Faith. The choir sang back then. They holla now. Please don't get me wrong, they are still a good choir. But it seems that the quality of gospel choir singing was better back in the day.
