  • If I was back in those days I'd be drooling all over him people that met him were lucky as all I can say he is stunning

  • Vincent Price was a famous dolphin right?

  • dude I would've guessed correctly in two seconds or less. How can you NOT recognize that voice??

  • There will never, ever, be another Vincent Price. How lucky we are to have his films so we can still hear that beautiful voice, see that handsome face, and enjoy a great sense of humor.

  • I was fortunate enough to have met Mr. Price late in his life. He was such a gentleman, so polite and just a wonderful, charming man.

  • Such a great, wicked laugh around 2:56

  • My dad saw Vincent Price at the Airport. My dad was taking a 9:00 PM flight to New York. Vincent was killing Vampires at Gate 4. Everyone has their hobbies.

  • Arlene Francis...she has rotten blood!!!

  • I love his handwriting :)

  • Ahhhh! I love Vincent Price. :D He was such an outstanding actor...every single one of his performances were brilliant. He's probably the only actor I wouldn't want to change any of his scenes.

  • sexy accent!

  • How could they not recognize that wonderful voice?

  • best signature evaar

  • As soon as you hear that voith you'd know.

  • what a gorgeous man. these days we look at the ridiculousness of baggy clothes all day long.

  • My dream man, Mr. Vincent Price.

  • what about his voice? unmistakeable

  • Walter Pidgeon! Once interviewed by an Englishman in the 1950s who, very nervously, began with the immortal words "it's a great Pidgeon to meet you, Mr.Privilege".

  • does anyone see the similarity to jeff bridges?vinny then & jeff now.

  • It's rather sad to see what we've lost. The whole point of this show wasn't the game; rather an opportunity to see erudite, witty people having a great time. That they managed to be charming and witty without being pretentious is the real trick. It's like going to a great cocktail party through your TV. They just don't make shows like this anymore!

  • The man could play any role from comedy to horror.. and did have a great singing voice.

  • LOVE his signature

  • what a top bloke he was. RIP

  • I've been watching all of the celebrities that appear on What's My Line... I have to say that I had forgotten how many refined and talented people used to be "celebrities".

We've not only gone downhill, we're way past scraping the bottom of the barrel... people now follow the lives of spoiled, talentless idiots and call them celebrities.

This is the danger of pandering to the general public.

  • Geez, actors used to be so talented. These days it's all just boobs and muscles and "mumblecore", christ help us.

  • @SovietTelevision u can't 4get people like

Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, Jeff Bridges, Johnny Depp, Julia Roberts, Daniel Day-Lewis, Morgan Freeman, Sandra Bullock & Cate Blanchett

it's dummies like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Nicholas Cage etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @AziaXtremeInphinity Why do you have Mel Gibson on that list? And why is George Clooney along the likes of all those other celebritrash?

  • @aznramenboi I don't understand what do u mean

  • Vincent Price & Walter Pidgeon look like brothers

  • 3:25 Like Dastardly?

  • I must say I love his signature...

  • You dont get famous for being talented anymore. seriously

  • He forgot to dot the "i" on his first name!

  • Everyone needs to check out Vincentennial, the 100th birthday film festival going on right now in Saint Louis, Missouri until May 28! His daughter Victoria Price will be hosting two events!

  • lmfaooo no smile after his song outburst "ouiiiii je suissss un artisteeee!"

  • vince was mighty handsome. no. i'm no twink neither. got the balls to say what i want.

  • I wish this show still existed. It would be cool.

Also, I just LOVED Vincent Price.

  • @cristoforoantonio

    Sadly, wouldn't be half as cool without all those personalities;

  • Him and Liberace had a thing going

  • That is one sexy fucker. Oh, and.. um.. [insert complaint about how fucked up times have become here]...

  • What a delightful man! Unique wonderful people such as Mr. Price are a treasure.

  • Anyone who thinks Mr. Price isn't a singer needs to hear 'When Day is Done'. *lol*

  • I always loved Mr Price's movies and now .. wow!

  • Oh, God. I love this man.

  • Fuck me, I started watching some Bill Hicks classics, then got linked to G Carlin, saw him young on What's my line which led me to this video... I LOVE YOUTUBE, I just realised how much I've been taking it for granted. I've never seen vincent price out of character (if he is, considering that outrageous french accent) and he seems even greater than I thought... And all thanks to youtube, and people like you uploading these rare gems. THANK YOU ALL....

  • We will never have great actors like this again! Holywood only focuses on looks and gossip and mostly releases shit as movies. If Vincent was still alive, he wouldve been perfect for the Joker in The Dark Knight

  • What a guy. I tell you one thing, if even one-tenth of the entertainment industry was made up of people who had the charisma, the ability, and the intellegence of Mr. Price, I think the world would truly be a better place. At the very least, we'd see fewer fodder television shows and fewer lower than dog crap movies.

  • @beefchops2011 Sadly, the industry bases on profit. If there aren't more people like vincent price under the spotlight nowadays it's because there's no audience for them. So the world is fucked up and entertainment adjusts to that.... Although, come to think of it, the world was pretty fucked up back then also, only less people knew it.

  • @DeusExMachina1111 One reason I like YT. Here I pick what I like and want to watch .. not some suit who worships only money. Nothing wrong with profits mind you. The problem is playing to the lowest common denomiator of people.

  • @ETericET The lowest common denominator is so true. If one compiled a list of the people in the entertainment field from that time back to, oh, Irving Berlin; so many have made a postitive contribution in some way that is so lacking today.

  • @beefchops2011 hear hear!

  • There will NEVER EVER be another VINCENT PRICE...He was OUTSTANDING in every single performance, a true gentleman, cultured and refined...He was tall, dark and handsome...An art affectionado..HE WAS THE BEST...SORELY MISSED BY ALL!

    Missing you always!!!

  • Vincent Price was a fantastic man, and one hell of an actor. RIP Vincent You are missed very much

  • He must be so pleased to be compared with Kirk Douglas, Rock Hudson, and Yul Brynner.

  • I Love him! What a great personality!!

  • Vincent Price: The epitome of Manlihood, sophistication and elegance.

  • one of the greatest actors of all time!!!!

  • "I have often walked down that street before"

    Simply perfect!

  • Those were the times when we had really admirable celebrities, now we have all we have left is stuff like Lil' Wayne and Kim Kardashian, Lord have mercy!

  • @rebk1228 i think its partially ours and the medias faults, i mean when they do something wrong they get so much coverage its redic. and then the demand for them when they sober up is HUGE for two reasons, one people remember how they were pre crazy, and want to see if they are just as good post crazy, or two they want to form their own opinion of whether or not they think they really recovered from whatever it was they were recovering from.

  • @rebk1228 ah this is when tv was class not this garbanzo garbage they shove at u & say here like it,,, i miss those days .. HEY WHY DONT THE EXECS AT STUDIOS DO A RESEARCH TOPIC ON WHAT PPL WANT & WHAT THEY SAY NOT WHAT YOUNG PPL LIKE ALL THE TIME,... I do believe in old souls in young bodies,, whats so wrong w classics

  • @lisa4615 Lisa you are right on the spot! I am in my early 30s and I find myself practically unable to watch TV! I prefer the interactivity of the web, where I can choose what I watch, when and for how long. I'd rather browse for quality vintage classics over here, it's much more fulfilling for me...and keeps me as far away as possible from Jersey Shore! LOL

  • @rebk1228 Wow ,yeah, that's way to right. :O But Tim Knol is funny. If you're Dutch.

  • @rebk1228 your fault your generation really screwed us over you grew up in an america that was winning .... I was born in the post soviet world and all I ever hear growing up is that we suck and we are fat and lazy .. in my america we dont win

  • @TheJasonDR Compared to present time and the time this show was running (50s-60s) the late 70s were not exactly a cultural/economical Renaissance, so my generation is not as advantaged as you might assume...but at least we had disco, LOL

  • @rebk1228 no you had so much more than that ... the only time my generation won at anything was killing osama literally I cannot recall america winning at something else ...also you guys were the first generation in US history that didnt care for future generations also .... you guys were actually the richest generation in Human History .... psychologically healthier as well....

  • @rebk1228 CAn you imagine if this show aired today? Imagine Kim Kardashian for example. "Are you an actor?" Hmm, no. "Do you play in a band?" Nope. "Are you associated with motion pictures?" Nope, sorry. "Do you play any instruments?" Nope again. Back then, celebrities were accomplished actors, scholars and musicians who could hold an intelligent conversation.

  • he even writes pretty! this man is just so classy!

  • The guy's a blast!

  • 2:54 Oh come on. The laugh. The effing LAUGH.

  • Panel: Would one consider you a serious actor as supposed a comedian

    Vincent: -laughs-

  • WOW, this was back in a time where Americans actually spoke and understood other languages! HAHAHAHA!

  • @elswordmaster People are still multilingual.. that makes no sense lol

  • @teemell19 americans are not their fucking retards who drink beer and find lady gaga as a talented singer

  • @Moonlitepack What?! Gaga gets ripped here, only idiots think she's talented. Not everybody drinks and you're spelling they're wrong and trying to call people retards. Your views are extremely skewed

  • One of the classiest men to ever grace Hollywood with his presence.

  • vincent's voice is soooo distinctive. i think i would have recognized it right away.

  • This show was so racist towards those born without eyes.

  • Vincent had true savoir-faire.. Spiffing chap..

  • Vincent had true Savoir-faire.. Spiffing chap..

  • "I have often walked that street before" Is that a reference to My Fair Lady?

  • LMAO at 1st answer!

  • lol AMAZING!!!! :D

  • How did they not guess that, he has one of the more recognisable voices.....EVER....

  • Vincent's voice is an example that smoking does have its advantages.

  • He did indeed have a great touch with comedy. Bela Lugosi had better timing, but Price had excellent delivery.

  • wtf

  • Many forget that for many, many years he starred as a funny, mild-mannered detective on radio, "The Saint."

  • Who are these two people who voted against?

    That they denounce themselves ^^

Thanks so much for sharing :) 5*

  • He's funny

  • I would've guessed after the 3rd answer!

  • I've never noticed this before...he looks a little bit like Paul Newman!

Yeah, yeah I know, Price was around long before Newman, but still there is a resemblance.

  • CAN YOU DIG IT?!

  • @GhettoBlaster100 agreed!

  • I would have married that man :D

  • amazed they didn't recognise his voice straight off - so distinctive

  • This makes me nostalgic for something that ended 30 years before I was born.

  • He is so handsome. God why was I born in the wrong era?

  • those people back then had real class, were funny and had good manners / behaviour. they were and still are real role models. i love the way they talked, always respectfully but funny at the same time. that was really the golden era.

  • @Cosmic86x

Tell me about it, I grew up in the 50's, it makes me sick to see kids today listening to rap-crap and saying "fuck" a dozen times in each sentence, like they think they're being clever.

  • @TheJomogogo not only the kids. a lot of so-called celebrities nowadays act like complete idiots with no manners. it seems that those actors, actress, singers etc. back then were more sophisticated, smart and more polite.

  • much of edward g robinson's fabled art collection turned out to be fakes. I guess thats why everybody laughed because anyone could have known more about art than Ed. I gues they found it funny back then

  • @etrax2000 interesting about eddie g and vincent they were friends if anyone could have and would have told eddie the truth about his art collection it would have been vincent,(who didnt consider e.g.r. a pro at art, after reading vincents bio by his daughter , no mention of fakes though what you are talking about sounds like a plot from i think it was the movie scarlet street with him am not sure, in any case what was verifiable and real was worth a quarter of a million if memory serves

  • that voice was too easy

  • gotta love Vincent Price, that voice of his mixed in with that giggle=best horror/comedy actor ever, or just best actor ever! i nominate Vincent Price for President of the United States

  • Vincent Price was a lovely and wonderful man RIP Vincent Price

  • men like these are not made any more

  • What a wonderful guy and yes a true gentleman..they just make guys like Vincent Price anymore....I've always adored him, even as a little girl...rest in peace, sir...

  • Vincent Price was marvelous! The original House of Wax was great!

  • man, blown away at this man's grace, poise, speaking ability, and clearly an "educated" "Cultured" "Manicured" and so well spoken! listen to him transition into some lovely French Phrases with ease. wow! whew! unreal. and just loved how "people" were back in this time. won't find anything like this now. now it's our phony, often Violent, and yes, even Scripted "reality" TV

clearly, what we're watching here is from better days gone by. simply a better era altogether.

  • Absolutely electrifying in the original House of Wax with Charles Buchinsky more commonly known as Charles Bronson.

  • What a lovely, talented man he was.

  • Ahhhh, Vincent Price. So hilarious!! Yes, he was a total gentleman and an excellent actor. View Laura, any and all of his horror flicks and, if you want to see him in a very funny role, Champagen for Caesar. He also did much for art and it's promotion. He was instrumental in getting for East Los Angeles City College (ELAC) a good art department along with an art gallery that bears his hame. He truly was a genleman.

  • What a great show. and I'm 23

  • Yul Brynner?

  • @whatimesit Haha, def not Yul Brynner, that's for sure!

  • definitely have to mask that voice, otherwise you could recognize him instantly.

You can still hear some of that unique Vincent Price voice.

  • Love Vincent Price ! I never tire of watching him perform ! He always was a fine gentleman!

  • HYSTERICAL

  • I wish I could go into a time machine and land in the 50's.

  • Classy, smart, cool. A rockin' guy. Great signature, too!

  • Egghead is one of Batman's most excentric villains.. he should be in the next Christopher Nolan-directed-the-Dark-Knight-sequel..

  • vincent is my hero!

  • I love that he speaks French!

  • People used to write so well ! lol I love this haha "ouiiii je suis un arrtiste !"

  • Putting Vincent Price and What's My Line together is like a perfect storm of savoir-faire, wit and class. And I love that everyone pretty much knew French back then. How quickly things have changed.

  • this show rocks!

  • Vincent Price is the definition of a true gentleman. So talented, sophisticated, handsome, that voice! OMG! and a fabulous personality to top it off. Now that is a truly admirable celebrity.

  • @rebk1228 Yes, he is a celebrity you can feel good about admiring!

  • Ah, classic television ads. Always a riot. And then, top it off with one the greatest performers of all time, the legendary Vincent Price, and you've got one of the funniest moments in game show history.

  • That was a good segment for that otherwise mostly lame show. Thanks to Vincent Price's personality!

  • One of the most recognizable voices in show business ever. I can't believe it took them so long to nail it down.

  • I love how people were so refined and civilized.

  • His voice is like silk!!! I love Vincent Price. <3 <3

  • Andrew Ryan?

  • First of all, the jackass who said "you obviously aren't a singer" was stupid, because VP could sing fine. Also, I don't know how they didn't get him sooner. No way to truly disguise that darkly mellifluous voice of his. And that laugh!

  • Nearly had a heart attack when Rock Hudson was mentioned... he should have been on this show!!!

  • I would think it would be obvious with his little slips.

  • ooh that voice!

  • love this guy :)

  • I am perhaps only 19 years-old, but Vincent Price is my favorite actor from the 'Classical' times with Clark Gable and Marlon Brando. And, as being from Belgium, I can say that he has a really good accent ^^

  • I am perhaps only 19 years-old, but Vincent Price is my favorite actor from the 'Classical' times with Clark Gable and Marlon Brando.

  • @roxor1080

I don't mean to be annoying or anything, but when you use "perhaps" in that way, it seems like you aren't quite sure how old you are. :)

  • beautiful signature

  • so funny, many celebrities on the panels were former radio stars/actors and they don;t guess fellow radio actors who appear as mystery guest

  • What an Humble and fantastic actor, Bravo!

  • vincent price was wayyyyy before my time, i'm 14 and i still love him all the same hahah :)

  • @kakadoodoo3000 It is a shame. I hate having to explain who he is to my friends and they just ignore me.

  • its astonishing how someone can be so charming and entertaining and yet attached to a million nightmares as Mr Price probably is. Watching this I almost wish he'd done more comedy acting.

  • That guy was a total gentleman.

  • I wish that Vincent Price still lived

  • I am 16 now. But when I was younger House on Haunted Hill (Vincent's version of course) was my favorite movie and still remains one of my favorites (: At age 5/6 I was like in love with him xD I was so sad to find out that he died the day after I was born. I was born on October 24,1993. He died October 25, 1993. R.I.P. Vincent ):

  • @JackMcFarlandFan1 i've also loved him since i was a little kid. :) used to watch his old movies on tv. he's a legend! i wish more young people today would take the time to find out who he was.

  • @JackMcFarlandFan1

Man, you make me feel old. I still remember driving home from late shift at work that October night and heard his obit on the late-night news radio. It moved me far more than I expected. I hadn't thought of him in many years until that night, but I actually had to pull over into a parking lot and thought of those terrific films he made that I grew up watching.

You're wise beyond your years. Thanks to DVDs, I hope you and your generation can keep him alive.

  • c'mon panel! It SOUNDS like him!!!!

  • I have always found Vincent Price VERY interesting and loved all of his works, acting painting and cooking.

  • The remaining information:

Price's last marriage was to the Australian actress Coral Browne, who appeared with him (as one of his victims) in Theatre of Blood (1973). He converted to Catholicism to marry her, and she became a U.S. citizen for him.

  • Price was married three times and fathered a son, named Vincent Barrett Price, with his first wife, former actress Edith Barrett. Price and his second wife Mary Grant Price donated hundreds of works of art and a large amount of money to East Los Angeles College in the early 1960s in order to endow the Vincent and Mary Price Gallery there. Their daughter, Mary Victoria Price, was born in 1962.

  • Vincent Price was one of the True Actors .

  • Vincent Price had a good sense of humour and unlike so many other "Actors" he did not appear to take himself too seriously. Which is refreshing.

  • vincent price would have been out had he been born 50 years later

  • What do you mean by out?

  • out of the closet, openly gay

  • I honestly don't think so.

  • lol you're kidding right?

  • Yes he probably would have been. Angela Jolie claims to lust after loads of women but in the same breath says she could never be married to one. And she loves kids ! But he might have married an open minded woman and been faithful to her too. People do things for complex reasons. And in countries like Mexico Poland and Turkey people marry to become part of a family structure and make babies Not for individual emotional fulfillment. That comes from close same sex friends.

  • I had the hangman board game!!!! bought it at a flea market i wish i still had it!!!

  • awsonme

  • I lovee when he smiles. :] He's so handsome.

  • Isn't he! He'd be my husband if he was still alive.

  • One of the finest. Ever. Anywhere.

  • Classic. Just classic. ;~)
