How exactly could they continue the storyline? I am curious to hear what you all say. Lemme rephrase. How do you want the storyline to go if kotor 3 was in the works

A lot of people don't like the story in KOTOR 2 as much as they did KOTOR 1. I think KOTOR 2's story is just something you have to look deeper into. It's a much darker story with more character and plot development along with greater meanings behind each action, whereas KOTOR 1 just has a twist.

It's a totally different story, At first I wasn't amazed but the more I played KOTOR 1 it was a way better story than the first 2 prequels. KOTOR 2 is 5 years after KOTOR 1 and acts more of A new Hope where everyone relies on one jedi. While the new one "The Old Republic" is Episode 3. Sith vs Jedi.

@SamusDrake if you're using windows 7, there's still hope! you just have to run them both in compatibility mode by going to C: > Program Files > LucasArts > SWKotOR (or SWKotOR 2) > and then go to the .exe file which will be either "swkotor" or "swkotor 2" depending on which one you're doing. Right click that file, go to properties, go to the compatibility tab, and choose a mode to run it in. I just got done playing both games using the Windows XP Service Pack 3 mode they both worked great!
Thanks for the advice, but I did find something important to running this game on a laptop with Vista(which is my current OS): Its vital to have Vsync enabled! There is an error which prevents the user from moving unless its enabled...
Its great to finally have the first game running(and rather well!), and I'll see if it works with KOTOR2 as well...

You know whats really sad...Ima buy this game when I have a 360 with reach and MW2...That's just how good it is. I spent more time playing SW KOTOR then I do Halo or MW2.

Also, while KOTOR II had a fantastic story (spoke a lot about faith, depression, pain, and some really complex political themes all within the context of Star Wars) nothing beat the character development and high adventure of KOTOR. :D

I cannot remember it's name, but if you are aligned with the dark side, and assemble the remnants of the Jedi council, then when they try to strip you of the force, Kreia walks in and owns them, and you learn that power. You have to be dark side aligned though.
@Shadowstalker31 its called force crush. You can get it if you get the Sith Lord prestige class. I got it by being all dark side and leaving one jedi master alive then going to the academy ruins to meet him (the Nar Shadaa one, funky name)

Star Wars games are some of the best! Also becaue of playing over and over doing things differently, Not just like and Dark side though also what gender your character really changes it to and what skills you master.
i love how theres SOO many different ways to play kotor2, i mean u can be a jedi or sith w/ 3 different classes for each or neutral and theres so many ways to influence your party members,,just too bad that it doesnt really affect how u play malachor V
It seemed as though in Kotor 2, like from the very start you couldnt be stopped and it remained that way throughout the entire game. Just way to easy in my opinion.
you are right man, i think that both kotors are great. At first i played the second one and can't say i liked it. But soon hehe, what can i say? The dark side was strong with me!!!! You can be a real badass in both but especially in the second.

You didn't ask enough to get the full story. Yes, it's an RPG, and in a sense turn based, but there are no mandatory pauses in between "turns", and it emulates real-time more.
Star Wars Episode 3 had cool fighting, but it was too predictable, and aside from the ending, the story was pretty linear.
You don't have to adore RPG games to like KOTOR.

i have a question that i must know. i got the star wars kites of the old republic 2 game from a friend who got it but didn't like it.(weird i know). Definitely. You've probably figured a lot out about KOTOR's plot, but it's still worth getting. There's a ton of stuff they don't really get into in the first game that's worth seeing (i.e. Manaan, the Sith Academy on Korriban, Taris), and some stuff you'd be familiar with (Mandalore in his earlier years, T3, and HK).
There's almost a different feel to the first game. I'm not sure how to explain that.
Because of the light/dark choices, missing that would be like missing out on two great games!
Even though it wasn't finished, it's still better than TOR :p.

Obsidian Forever - great team cause they created Planescape Torment and Fallout.

@louiedovey not really, there's only one character or two maybe that are from the first one, but i suggest playing both of them, they are a great pair of games!

i used to play that video game i beat it several times one as light side and one as dark side the thing about that game is in the beggining u dont have a light saber so u have to make 1 and it takes forever but its all worth it. (good game) (-:

Star Wars games are some of the best! Also becaue of playing over and over doing things differently, Not just like and Dark side though also what gender your character really changes it to and what skills you master.

i love how theres SOO many different ways to play kotor2, i mean u can be a jedi or sith w/ 3 different classes for each or neutral and theres so many ways to influence your party members,,just too bad that it doesnt really affect how u play malachor V

I loved both the first kotor and the second.
They're two of my favorite games. I hope that they eventually come out with a kotor 3.

It seemed as though in Kotor 2, like from the very start you couldnt be stopped and it remained that way throughout the entire game. Just way to easy in my opinion.

you are right man, i think that both kotors are great. At first i played the second one and can't say i liked it. But soon hehe, what can i say? The dark side was strong with me!!!! You can be a real badass in both but especially in the second.

Oh! so it's boring .I don't like RPG games because I can't wait for turns-fighting!.I prefer action games as star wars episode III.Some people say it sucked,but I liked it a lot!

Star Wars episode 3 was okay.
I wouldn't dismiss it as "boring" so quickly.
You didn't ask enough to get the full story. Yes, it's an RPG, and in a sense turn based, but there are no mandatory pauses in between "turns", and it emulates real-time more.
Star Wars Episode 3 had cool fighting, but it was too predictable, and aside from the ending, the story was pretty linear.
You don't have to adore RPG games to like KOTOR.
End rant. Point? Just because you don't like it doesn't make it boring.

i have a question that i must know. i got the star wars kites of the old republic 2 game from a friend who got it but didn't like it.(weird i know). I have beaten the this one but have never played the first one. so i have a question. Is it worth it to go and get the first game and play it even after i have played and completed kotor 2 the sith lords? this completely opinionated thanks for your help.

Definitely. You've probably figured a lot out about KOTOR's plot, but it's still worth getting. There's a ton of stuff they don't really get into in the first game that's worth seeing (i.e. Manaan, the Sith Academy on Korriban, Taris), and some stuff you'd be familiar with (Mandalore in his earlier years, T3, and HK).
There's almost a different feel to the first game. I'm not sure how to explain that.
Because of the light/dark choices, missing that would be like missing out on two great games!
