Not that WoW doesn't have its problems, but at least they bring up good tropes for how to streamline a game. I will say that and anyone who disagrees is being disingenuous for some reason or other.
I think what this game illustrates, more than anything else, is a severe problem with Japanese game development. They seem to want to port old school menu digging (a la the earlier FF's going back to the NES days) and design with current gen gaming and it really just does not work.
I have played recently and the selling lag has been reduced a bit. It's still obviously a heavily menu based system, but it has improved a bit in responsiveness.
The game doesn't cost you any monthly fees until it's working as it should.. + i don't understand why you people always have to fight about wow vs something.. you better start eating more shrooms and give less shit about things like these... grow up.. people like from different things and that's a f*cking fact!
At first I jumped halfway through the video thinking, it can't be that bad.
Then I jumped to 2/3rds of the way through.
Then 5/6ths.
FFXIV was a joke. It's funny the one argument I hear all the time from FFXIV fans is that FFXI wasn't that great in its beta. ...its beta which came out nearly a decade ago, and since then apparently they brought in an entirely new development team which never even glanced at FFXI?
I'm now totally sold on the "it was outsourced to China" rumor. It makes sense.
@Jirras After reading the first little bit of your comment, i assume you have never played FFXIV and only watch videos on it. Why dont you try the game as it is now and stop acting like you know the game when you probably dont play it.
@TheMrLvost I played it for a week and a half. I could tell the interface was terrible, but I never paid much attention to exactly how long it took to sell things because if FFXI was any indication, vendor trash wouldn't be worth bothering with anyway. Oh hey, a level 80 mob's dropping the exact same item as a level 1 mob and it vendors for 14 gil. Whoopie.
@Jirras A week and a half,...Lol, then you have no right to complain. Try the game as it is now, or don't say anything at all. And how would you know high level mobs in FFXIV drop items worth 14g? You don't, its just your assumption off of FFXI. So far based on what i have seen from mobs dropping items, prices go up, although some do drop the same stuff, though that would be common crafting items.
@TheMrLvost You're right, I'm basing my assumptions off FFXI... because it seems SE hasn't learned anything from it.
I have no right to complain about a game I've played for a week and a half? Seriously? How long do I have to devote to something before I can tell it's garbage? Or, oh wait, is it still not "complete" yet? It's STILL free right?
@Jirras Yes, you do have no right to complain. You haven't played since the latest update, so don't complain about it still being garbage when you havent tryed it now.
@TheMrLvost So, they've COMPLETELY changed the battle system? Cause that was the reason I couldn't keep playing. I mean, I figured they'd have to make the interface less crappy just to have a chance, so I would have just put up with that for a while, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's still the same garbage skill system and fighting.
@Jirras Oh look your back and with a stupid reply. Geez, i wonder does it take you hours upon hours just to see if you noticed any changes. Nah, your just being a sore loser.
@TheMrLvost Sore... loser? I lost the randomness endurance test that IS FF MMOs? Or are you referring to this conversation as some sort of debate contest?
And, yes, it generally does take hours to notice changes in a FF MMO, since they try so hard to keep stuff hidden. If not for the few players that took weeks out of their lives researching battle data and compiling statistics FFXI players STILL wouldn't know how much haste the Haste spell gives. Or how to find your Acc, Ratk, Latent triggers..
@Jirras First off, why would anyone bother finding out that shit when 14 isnt even finished, its just a waste of time. And no, it doesnt take hours to find any changes. All you do is go to the lodestone, see what they updated, and go test it out, doesnt even take that long. Your making it sound as if its a dam job that you do everyday.
@Jirras FFXIV is a job? You must be one of those people who have short attention spans that cant really do shit. I play FFXIV fine, granted its crafting is fckin boring and long as hell to lvl, but i do it anyways because i need decent crafting lvls to repair and make shit. Lvling combat classes,. thats another story. Its more fun when your grinding in a group, we always talk shit to eachother and fck around, dont know about you.
@TheMrLvost "I play FFXIV fine, granted its crafting is fckin boring and long as hell to lvl, but i do it anyways because i need decent crafting lvls to repair and make shit."
A true FF fan.
Honestly, I'd rather not have to go through 3+ boringass separate grinds (money, EXP, crafting, etc.) just to get to endgame to grind more.
And, talk in the grind? As in, vent/skype/TS? I hope you don't mean in-game text cause, wow, that must be really, really simplistic and slow combat to let you do that.
Square Enix, we know you're trying so, so hard to become Blizzard. But why should I sit through a game that has no interface and takes too much time in town? Why should I pay money for this game when you can get a fairly decent WoW knock-off from Shaiya? Or pay money for games that work, like Aion or City of Heroes? Hell, if I wanted to see a game that put more effort into its graphics than anything else, I'd boot up my PS2 and pop in one of your free games. Sorry Squeenix, you're obsolete.
@lalalalucius "Pay Money", i think i remember FFXIV beeing free until they think the game is ready. And it seems from the games you listed, that you like Fast-Paced games. And by what do you mean takes too much time in town? Lag? If so, get a better comp. But like i said, looks like you like Fast-Paced games so FFXIV is not for you.
@TheMrLvost Lol i love final fantasy fans/MMO non-conformists. They're always idiots. From what I can tell, it's not lag, sweetheart, but shitty coding. And I still have to buy the fucker, don't I? Why waste 50$ for a game that doesn't work. Obviously you can't deny that it takes too long to sell items. I don't need fast-paced games, I need games that are FUN. But it's obvious that because I like fun, ANY final fantasy isn't for me. Sorry, I'll stick with fun games, thank you.
@lalalalucius Ok even if you still buy the "Fucker" thats 50$, over the past damn what, 5 months its been free, and continuing to be free, so technically SE is paying you. And yes it still takes long to sell items, i just deal with it, seems you cant, with that attitude of yours. And shitty coding can easily be updated and patched, thats why SE is working to make the game you want it to be, but it seems you dont understand this.
I'm not a fanboy or a hater of anything, but what is fact. I have the first 3 wow expansions sitting no my desk and I bought FFXIV at launch. From launch I have enjoyed FFXIV more than I have ever enjoyed wow. I also played Aion for around 4 months from launch, it was fun, but the grinding got to me eventually. Out of all of them, I have enjoyed FFXIV the most so far. The graphics are amazing. It did have a shaky start, but it's getting better every day. On top of that, they are adding an AH.
FFXIV will get better for the select few who remember what FFXI was like when it was in beta and when it launched it was pretty much the same as FFXIV, Slow getting off the ground but after about a year it turned out to be a good game that lasted 7 years. I think it will work out in the end for people who were fans of FFXI.
@maffers7087 You're also neglecting to take into account several factors. One being FFXI had little to no competition, which allowed it to have such a bad opening. Another being how much they fumbled FFXIV's development and release, when compared to FFXI's.
I'm not saying you can't be optimistic, but also be smart about it.
These idiots who say this game is good at all are not fans of MMOs. They are just fans of Final Fantasy. Nothing you can do or say will change them, they have a herd mentality where they feel "special" for being in a small group against many "haters."
I have played FFXIV on and off for over a month, I can't believe that any game at all could be this horribly incomplete, let alone a SE game. I'm not liking Cataclysm that much either, but at least it FUNCTIONS.
Square-Enix must think we're all stupid with how shit-tastic FFXIV is. Pay for that crap? Yeah, right...
I played FFXI for 5 years, and I thought THAT game was a damn grind. Compared to FFXIV, FFXI is WoW for the speed and ease one rockets through the levels.
I quit FFXI about 6 months ago, and recently started playing Lord of the Rings: Online. Free to play, awesome graphically, and about a billion times less grindy then FFXI or FFXIV. Check it out if you're looking for an MMO to play.
I have been thinking about getting this game because I quit FFXI and I'm in the mood for another MMORPG after almost 2 years hiatus but I keep hearing nothing but bad news and griping about FFXIV. Do you guys complain about it not being effortless or something? An MMORPG is supposed to be challenging to some extent and to insist that you should get everything handed to you is retarded. Either way, I can always return the game for a refund but I'd still have to pay the 1st monthly fee.
@Noah837 You can't return PC games. There's also plenty of people that enjoyed FFXI (including me) that hate this game. It's not about effort but about shitty gameplay and design.
@lufia22 Okay, well I was just wondering because it reminds me of all the complaints done about FFXI and look at how SE responded by making it have less variety and just overall ruined many good aspects of the game that made it enjoyable throughout the years prior to all their excessive changing in late 08' I believe? You may complain to your hearts desire and they may do some adjustments but it could be totally different than what you expect because afterall it's not you developing the game.
@Noah837 You should have been in on the late beta and you would know why FF14 is such a steaming pile of shit. And no, from what I've read it's not like when it was released suddenly the veil of crap covering a pile of golden treasure was lifted, it still sucked balls and was basically the same game at release as it was in the late beta. If you want to be entertained in a fashion similar to FF14, punch yourself in the balls repeatedly. At least you'll save some money (and it's less painful.)
@Noah837 If you need to rely on the inefficiency and cumbersome clunkiness of your trade system to provide difficulty (tedium and annoyance), then you're doing it wrong. It mystifies me how people try to justify badly designed systems with "it's part of the challenge". I'm sorry, but sifting through a bunch of shit for half an hour is not challenging, it's boring and annoying.
@Skyshattered I never said anything of the sort. I was merely stating that some people tend to over exaggerate on things and its just silly. There are things you can't have control over, like how the dynamics of FFXIV are for example. Of course selling items for a half hour is repetitive and boring. I'm not denying that one bit but I hate how people portray WoW as the best thing since sliced bread and that its infallible. It isn't because there's always going to be something to tick you off.
@Noah837 There are many WoW players who complain about the difficulty of WoW, and they also constantly complain about how features that are handy and improve efficicency and time spent on menial tasks dumb down and make the game easier, I've been frustrated wih that stance for a while now, so I may have jumped the gun with you.
Also, WoW's success speaks for itself, people can slag it off all they want, the game is incredibly polished and fluid, and it dominates the market for a reason.
@Skyshattered It's no problem. I realize WoW is much more cohesive and put together than FFXIV. Then again, FFXIV is still fairly new so it still has room for improvement. Suppose SquareEnix fixes the mess that is permeating it now and allow easy access to selling whole bulks of items or atleast multiple items at once instead of just 1 at a time, wouldn't that dramatically increase its desirability to play? That shouldn't be too hard for them to do and surely they know people aren't happy.
@Redrussian1983 Well, I might still pick it up and give it a shot anyway because despite its major flaws that make it painful to play as shown in this video, it looks appealing and intriguing to me. I can always cancel my subscription and cease paying for the game monthly if I wish. I may not be able to return the game itself to get my money back from purchasing it but I'm thinking if I held on to it and see if they improve the game I could play it then when its better.
I've played EQ, SWG, Lin2, FFXI, RFO-Beta, WoW, AoC, and FFXIV. Up until September 22nd, RF Online was the worst MMORPG that I've ever played. Now that title belongs to FFXIV.
I thoroughly enjoyed FFXI, but FFXIV is a steaming pile of horse dung. Everybody at SE should be waterboarded to death for this . . no exceptions, not even the janitorial staff.
Normally I'd just get over it, but this is too big of a disappointment. I bought the collectors edition & already cancelled my subscription.
Seems to me that SE was using the PC launch as a guinea pig to prepare for the cash cow (PS3 launch). Problem is there will be nobody left by the time of the PS3 launch that will even consider buying the game let alone paying monthly for it. I laughed when I saw they extended the free trial. What's that tell you right there? They are in CYA (cover your ass) mode because of the backlash they received from all the irate customers. Time to reinstall FFxi and wait for the18 hrs worth of updates...
@Squishydoodoo lmao i cant even play this game on my computer that seems to run all other games i try greatly, so im waiting for the ps3 release hopefully they will have fixed all the bugs and the no AH thing.... but im with ya on the ffxi thing i canceled my account a few months ago so i think im just gonna buy a character up to the new level caps and all the expansion keys already activated and just play that for a while
Sigh, this is just great....Patch 4.0 screwed WoW and now I am hearing about tons and tons of problems with this game. I have not gotten it yet since my old computer cant handle it but my new one coming will. Still on the fence with this game honestly....
This game is awesome! You guys don't have to like it but it's too bad you can't appreciate its mellowness. I actually really love it so far. It -did- take getting used to, but I actually liked learning from scratch. I know how to play now and I find it fun as hell. Just, very different, that's all. For sure there are people sinking into it, and I wager the communities will start to do interesting things. Nice relaxing alternative to play -with- other MMOs too. It's designed to take its time.
I actually watched someone play this on an Alienware computer. After 5 minutes of crafting I went to give my bud a beer. After 10 minutes all I heard was random screaming and 'WHY DID I WASTE 60 DOLLARS ON THIS!? FUCK YOU SQUARE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!". I learned my lesson after playing Final Fantasy 12 that the series was going downhill.
Its is almost surreal that someone managed to create an numbered entry in one of gaming's most revered franchises that is so bad that it will take its spot next to E.T. and Superman 64 in the gaming media as one of the worst games of all time.
The launch of FFXIV is a disastrous train wreck that will be talked about in the industry for years to come.
This is an excellent video, thanks for posting it! I had the misfortune of buying this game and believe me, it is every bit as tedious as this video makes it look. DO NOT BUY IT!
Quite a few FF games have been my favorite games of all time, including FF13, but I really can't stop thinking what the hell were the developers thinking after seeing the gameplay videos.
Really..WTH were they thinkinig in order to come with such bad UI? I'm not even gonna talk about the gameplay.
@CookiesfromHell That's XPerl Unit Frames. My UI is really sloppy because that's the first time I logged into that character after installing mods recently.
FFXIV is a joke. Everything in that game takes forever because they want you to play longer. They could have done the same thing by making the game fun. Square enix fails.
mmo should be more educative since ppl put in their life to play and not just see colour change in crafting and determine what to do later and grinding make mmo fail hard..
I'm getting pretty tired of people defending this games horrible interface. If this was anything other than final fantasy everyone would admit it was complete crap but noooooo they have to make excuses to defend a game because of the series it's shoved into.
I'm not insulting the FF series or defending WoW I'm just saying this game is bullshit and I haven't seen any good reasons for people to be defending it.
This is such deja vu of people defending FFXIII's bullcrap.
@HyperDarkmoon You know i won't rant about you not liking wow, but saying "they're both horrid" sounds like they're on the same level, god damn i can't even begin to say what gigantic fuck up of a game FFXIV compared to ANYTHING. If i had a choice to play WoW or eat a bucket full of shit every morning i'd choose WoW, but if the choice was FFXIV, I'd eat three bucketloads
@TheRogueX I was using a controller on the PC. I find it faster/easier to navigate the menus with. Using the mouse and having to go back and forth between menus is annoying.
and to think i preordered this piece of shit. I was able to play 8 days early, and i am still unable to get it to even work updating the damn thing. Final Fantasy versus 13 is going to be the last chance i give SE. Now I'm going back to grind on a fun game called final fantasy 6
Why are we even having a discussion with a guy that hasn't even played the game? FFXIV has no content. It's a big grind game. You grind combat, you grind, crafts, or you grind gathering levels. There's nothing else to do but watch a pretty cutscene every 5 levels. This is all on top of the bugs, awful ideas, and terrible UI.

@lufia22 The game is also still new. WoW had zero content when it launched to. Most every MMO has limited content when it launches. Most of the concentration is set for the beginning area's because that's where everyone's going to be for awhile.
@Raansu Bullshit. WoW had dungeons. FFXIV is straight up grinding. AoC had dungeons (and PvP). Tabula Rasa had dungeons. LOTRO had story quests, monster PvP, and dungeons. Champions Online had PvP and dungeons. How many more do I need to list that had more content than FFXIV does at launch? Stop using your bullshit FFXIV defense. I see it everywhere. "Every game sucks and is equally bad at release." BULLSHIT. That's the most ignorant and inexperienced argument I've read.
@lufia22 Every MMO is straight up grinding at its early stage. The game is only a couple of weeks old, no one knows what kind of content is available at end game yet. LOTRO has a story? Cool, so does FFXIV. WoW had dungeons? Cool. Its just another form of grinding, but in an instance. And content is defined differently in games. FFXIV Faction leve's and Behests are no different that dungeons. It's more or less the same concept. And world PvP sux. I'm glad FF14 doesnt have it. I hate being ganked
@Raansu What the fuck are you even saying dude. You even play MMOs? This game's UI is clearly tailored to consoles, its a glitchy piece of shit, and it holds nothing over other games at launch. Your whole argument seems to be what content was at launch. The author of this video already shut you down on that. Whats your argument now? Content? LUL don't make me laugh. #1, content should be available at game start. #2, no amount of content can fix the shit UI and glitches.
@Prosthetics511 I was simply replying to one of his comments about content. I never argued anything about the UI. I'll be the first to admit the game has alot of problems and that the UI is terrible. But I also know that every MMO I have played at launch has been bare bone and buggy, and FFXIV is no different. I'm willing to give the game a chance atleast until its first major update. After that if it hasnt improved ill move on to GW2 or SW.
Yep, why would you ever want to play through environments with some actual character and art design, when you could just simply run through recycled terrain and do boring shit that's made all the worse by terrible A.I. that's a great idea.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Beans253 Yes, seriously, WoW is a care bare game. You can reach the cap in less then a week, items are given to you on a silver platter, and the game is plagued by children. WoW is a joke. I'd rather suffer through all the problems with FF14 then ever go back to WoW.
@lufia22 Actually comparitive to what it was to what it is now WoW SUCKED at launch. Also you mentioned 3 MMOs that FAILED. Well LotRO didn't really fail but its now FTP.
Also rather than making another comment I am going to say this EVERY game is a Grind. If you want to argue that with me then you fail at everything because what differs most games from each other is HOW they do that grind. MW2 you go around shooting people to gain levels. THATS A GRIND
What's your point about WoW? It's better now than it was at release? Thanks for making that point, genius. That doesn't detract from the fact that it was in a much better position than FFXIV is at launch.
Whether or not a game failed has nothing to do with how much content it has.
Anything can be simplified into a grind. So? When I say grind, I refer to killing enemies over and over for no other reason than to fill up your XP bar. You know...like Maple Story and countless other Korean MMOs.
@Simriel The only game I listed that has actually closed is Tabula Rasa. There's different definitions of "fail" just like there's different definitions of "grind," which sort of makes me wonder why he got all technical about my use of the word "grind" when his use of "fail" is equally debatable.
WoW didn't suck at launch. Any bugs that were out at the time, Blizzard fixed within 3 weeks. SE is making ppl wait until late November-early December for simple things like a sort function for inventory, an AH (or at least a way to find what you want to buy from market wards), and fixes to the buggy/laggy UI. It was so bad that SE gave ppl another free month just to keep ppl playing FFXIV. The Japanese, their target audience, hate even more than we do. Whats that say about SE?
Blizzard was smart enough to hide the grind feel that most MMOs have with all kinds of quests and dungeons. Twenty-one levels into FFXIV and I'm STILL grinding rats and dodo's after I finish the often recycled leve quests, of which I can only do 8 of every 36 hours. Putting it bluntly, WoW had more content at launch than FFXIV did.
@zozma38 Want to know what other games hide the grind? Bioshock, MW, MW2, Fallout 3, Force Unleashed. I could NAME almost any game and it hides the grind pretty well because EVERYTHING is a grind no matter what genre no matter what you want to do ITS ALL A GRIND.
@chaosLeader0 It's probably pretty pointless to explain this to a troll, but to everyone else... everything is not a grind. Grinding isn't an umbrella term for doing anything, it's a term for repetitively doing something that's NOT advancing a plot or has any relevance beyond just doing it. Some people like to grind and some people choose to ignore a plot and can turn an otherwise good story into a grind. Like Lufia said, play a Korean MMO... no plot, just kill, kill, kill... zzzzzz :\
@SSJ21Talon Learn the ACTUAL definitions of internet words before you start using them okay? Second grinding is a term used to mean doing the same thing over and over again it doesn't matter whether or not it advances the plot or not if its doing the same thing over and over it is a grind.
@chaosLeader0 Troll - One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.
Grind - To grind is to kill monsters or mobs in an area for the singular purpose of gaining xp (experience points) in order to level, as opposed to farming or completing quest objectives within the game.
Yea... grinding, farming, and questing are all time sinks, but there's a difference.
All those games you listed don't require a monthly fee to keep playing. Point still stands; FFXIV is a bland game. Nothing but doing 8 leves every 36 hours and then grinding with no other content. Graphics don't make a game which is one thing SE should have taken from Blizzard's WoW.
@zozma38 Did I ever disagree with you that FFXIV didn't suck? read all my posts and tell me EXACTLY where I said the words FFXIV does not suck. I was just saying that all games have a grind and that some are just better at hiding it than others.
@lufia22 So? Who cares if other MMO's had more "Content" then when FFXIV first launched, its because fckin SE pushed it out to fast. Your fckin comparing a game that was released just recently to games that have been out a while. You play those games back then doing raids and dungeons that you get so fckin used to it you expect every other fckin MMO thats being released now to have a dungeon and other content similiar to other fckin MMO's back then.
@MrRyjian Ok, how about you compare the release of FFXIV to the release of Rift. Rift is BRAND FUCKING NEW and wins, hands-down, on every single aspect over FFXIV. You fucking retarded FFXIV fans will bend over and get ass-rammed and smile about it as long as the dildo has SE's logo on it. You will happily play and PAY for a broke-ass game that is torturous to play, and cite how other MMOs have rough starts as evidence. Well, Rift is here to dispel your lame argument.
@fhqwghads Not sure how you got 3 thumbs up. The only thing more ridiculous than Rift's graphics is the fact the game was released in 2011. It has some great concepts, but beyond that all I see is another WoW imitation. I won't disagree that square's gone to shit and ffxiv was released way too fucking early. I'm not holding my breath, but ffxiv could still miraculously re-enter the ring. But as far as I'm concerned, Rift was never in it--all it did was sweep up the impatient mmo players.
@Velacroix It's simple - people liked and agreed with me so they rated me up. People like you will ALWAYS see "WoW" imitations. It's been said a million times about every MMO that has come out since WoW. People will compare new products against old products. Companies take what works and put it into new products, and improve on them. You will *NEVER* see an "omg this is so much better than WoW but nothing like it!" EVER. Games evolve. WoW wasn't exempted. It built on previous MMO successes.
@fhqwghads Whoa wait a min,....WoW was a success? Yea sure it was, back then, because it was basically the only anticipated MMO in 2004, because of the previous games that came out before it. (Diablo II *2000*, Diablo II Exp. *2001*, Warcraft 3 *2002*). Diablo II was a big hit back then and so was Warcraft 3, when people heard there was gonna be a "World of Warcraft" MMO, everybody basically shit their pants. WoW, at this time of year, is *Not* the best MMO. Cont.,->
@TheMrLvost WoW was not the only anticipated MMO of 2004. EQII, WoW and FFXI all came out within a month of each other, and WoW was actually the underdog of the 3. EQII was the sequel to the most popular MMO at the time, and FFXI had the Final Fantasy name behind it (which was far more recognizable than Diablo or Warcraft at the time).
@fhqwghads I keep hearing idiots say "It has the most subscribers", that really doesn't mean shit. The reason "Why" it currently holds the most subscribers is because of old time players who dont want to let go and just play WoW their whole life and not try any other game (Which you cant deny). And also the age group that WoW is pointed towards. For Ex....Which game do you think a 14 y/o would play, WoW's "Cartoonish" and "Easy Pace gameplay" or FFXIV's "Flawless Graphics" and "Hardcore"-->
@fhqwghads gameplay? Little kids these days don't have "Patience". So thefore, WoW would be the one they play. But you cant deny that either, although yes, there are older people who play, but those are the people who have been playing basically since release or a little after release. "The ones who cant let go", God forbid they cant try another game. They release the same boring shit each expansion, "5 more levels, and items, dungeons that are basically the same". Only reason they keep most of
@fhqwghads their subscribers is the "5 lvls" every expansion. If they put a level cap on WoW, do you seriously think they would have as many players they do now? And *YES*, you will see some MMO's that are better then WoW, but is nothing like it. For Example, EvE Online. They are comming out with alot of new shit that fckin blows the mind. But yea, im bored at work, so im having fun typing this.
@TheMrLvost I didn't say WoW was a success (although you can't argue with revenue, it is easily one of the most subscribed and profitable MMOs on the face of the planet.) What I *did* say is that WoW built on the successes of MMOs before it. As for the rest of what you said, I mostly agree. WoW was built for the least common denominator, and Blizzard made out like a bandit with that approach.
@TheMrLvost actually its usually 10, but blizz did 5 this time round because it takes the same amount of time to get those 5 levels as it does to get the 10 from the previous expansions.
@fhqwghads actually... no-one's had to pay for it.aside from the initial box purchase. Square enix has refused to charge people, even in the light of the recent earthquakes in japan, and the fact that the game's launch did quite hurt them financially.
Rift is an okay game, but didn't click with me. same with WoW this is likely for me due to how similar the two games feel to play.
I enjoy FFXIV, and have loved recent updates, and planned updates shared with the players by the dev team.
@fhqwghads And WoW fanboys take any object Blizzard hands them and shoves it up their ass. Fucking hell, when Rift was shown in commercials, they even referenced WoW to get more attention. And when Rift was released, WoW saw a signifigant decline in subscribers due possibly to Rifts release, because many WoW fans think it's very similar and are just trying to move on. Brag all you want about Rift's success, but don't even try to tell me it was riding on WoW's coat tails half the time.
@lufia22 Screw that! I love XIV and hate WoW! I played WoW for an hour under the free trial, and hated it. Character creation was limited, it threw me somewhere with no hint as to what's going on, didn't give me any help on how to play, and expected me to walk on my own. Whenever I asked for help I got basement dwellers screamin NOOB and laughing at me! And I saw 10 Mr. Ts, proving commercialism plays a big role in this money scheme of an MMO. One of the worst I've ever played!
@NegiBozu203 I couldn't give a flying fuck which game you like more or why you hate WoW. This is a video comparing selling. Nothing more. You fanboys and haters alike have turned it into something else, which I haven't helped by spouting my own opinion. Regardless, this video could have been FFXIV versus many other games, but this just happened to be the two games I had subs to. It's not just WoW that has quick inventory selling. It's many other MMOs as well.
@NegiBozu203 Also, if selling speed has improved in FFXIV or you truly believe I was doing it slowly, then make your own video response instead of using words. Words don't mean shit, hence why I made this video. Granted, I firmly believe I didn't sell things slowly. I messed up a few times at the beginning, which exemplifies the unnecessarily complicated procedure of simply selling an item, but you could easily skim 30 seconds off my sell time and it would still be ridiculous.
@lufia22 You only have to sell stuff like once every few days, so the speed once in a while doesn't matter, and the fact you complain, is just being whiney. And you're not helping your point by comparing it to WoW. because you're doing what everyone does in this video, and comparing an MMO to that many feel people should follow after.Whether the sell speed is fast or slow, who cares, you barely have to do it. And if you let this one point ruin the game for you, then you're a whiny child.
@NegiBozu203 The fact that you're on my video comment section complaining about my video sounds a bit whiny. And you must not play often if you rarely have to sell, because I had to sell often, especially if you're a gatherer. With all the normal, +1, +2, and +3 versions of those items, your inventory gets filled up fast. You're also making the assumption that this one point "ruined the game for me," which makes you a fucking moron.
@NegiBozu203 Also, if you'd like me to compare it to other games besides WoW because your fanboy rage makes you loathe anything WoW, please pay my $15 subscription fee and I will. Otherwise get your dick out of your ass and deal with it. Your game isn't perfect. It's so god awful that they gave several months free just to keep people playing and they're completely changing the development team because the one working on it was such a failure.
@lufia22 First off, the subscription fee isn't $15, way to get your facts straight. And I'm not saying its perfect, I don't think anyone anywhere is, but its not bad. People just need to accept the fact its something different. I've played many, many online games in my time, and I find WoW to be one of the worst. A game where you can max a character in one week then start all over is not a game, its a waste of time. Just because other people like it and you don't, you don't need to be a dick.
@NegiBozu203 I didn't say FFXIV was $15. You're bitching about me comparing the speed of selling to WoW, the game you hate and loathe. I said pay my $15 sub to another game (which, you know, is the typical sub fee for most games) and I'll compare it something else. Otherwise, GTFO.
Also, I've played many, many online games, and I found FFXIV to be one of the worst. OMG, we have different opinions. And guess what?! I don't give a shit what yours is. OMGOMGOMGOMG
@NegiBozu203 Clearly if you think you can max a character in a week on WoW, you've never played it, or couldnt get past the starter area, WoW is a great game, thats why millions play it. If you are playing casually it will take you a minimum of 3 weeks to reach 85, and then another few to get decent gear. But if your playing non-stop, it will still take a while, as you can only do certain things once per day.
When I still played (during WotLK) I could cap in two days (IRL time, not played). RAF to 60 took 5~ hours of running characters through dungeons, and 60-80 took the rest of the time. Gearing to do current raid content took another two days. WoW was fun, and I have no reason to bash it, but it was a very small time investment (not a bad thing, necessarily).
To those who are comparing these games together, here is the thing,
WoW was released in year 2004. Its still living and people are still pouring their money into it.
FF14 was released in year 2010. Its half dead and not many people are getting it now.
So... what do you think?

Not that WoW doesn't have its problems, but at least they bring up good tropes for how to streamline a game. I will say that and anyone who disagrees is being disingenuous for some reason or other.
I think what this game illustrates, more than anything else, is a severe problem with Japanese game development. They seem to want to port old school menu digging (a la the earlier FF's going back to the NES days) and design with current gen gaming and it really just does not work.
phuturephunk 1 year ago
I have played recently and the selling lag has been reduced a bit. It's still obviously a heavily menu based system, but it has improved a bit in responsiveness.

Jirras 1 year ago
@Jirras After reading the first little bit of your comment, i assume you have never played FFXIV and only watch videos on it. Why dont you try the game as it is now and stop acting like you know the game when you probably dont play it.

@TheMrLvost Possiblyl because he doesn't want to waste his money on a game that, by all signs, he will very much not enjoy.
kodoro 1 year ago
@TheMrLvost I played it for a week and a half. I could tell the interface was terrible, but I never paid much attention to exactly how long it took to sell things because if FFXI was any indication, vendor trash wouldn't be worth bothering with anyway. Oh hey, a level 80 mob's dropping the exact same item as a level 1 mob and it vendors for 14 gil. Whoopie.
Jirras 1 year ago
@Jirras A week and a half,...Lol, then you have no right to complain. Try the game as it is now, or don't say anything at all. And how would you know high level mobs in FFXIV drop items worth 14g? You don't, its just your assumption off of FFXI. So far based on what i have seen from mobs dropping items, prices go up, although some do drop the same stuff, though that would be common crafting items.
TheMrLvost 1 year ago
@TheMrLvost You're right, I'm basing my assumptions off FFXI... because it seems SE hasn't learned anything from it.
I have no right to complain about a game I've played for a week and a half? Seriously? How long do I have to devote to something before I can tell it's garbage? Or, oh wait, is it still not "complete" yet? It's STILL free right?
Jirras 1 year ago
@Jirras Yes, you do have no right to complain. You haven't played since the latest update, so don't complain about it still being garbage when you havent tryed it now.
TheMrLvost 1 year ago
@TheMrLvost So, they've COMPLETELY changed the battle system? Cause that was the reason I couldn't keep playing. I mean, I figured they'd have to make the interface less crappy just to have a chance, so I would have just put up with that for a while, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's still the same garbage skill system and fighting.
Jirras 1 year ago
@Jirras Quit bitching about it and find out for yourself. It's not like its costing you anything to log on.

TheMrLvost 1 year ago
@TheMrLvost Sore... loser? I lost the randomness endurance test that IS FF MMOs? Or are you referring to this conversation as some sort of debate contest?
And, yes, it generally does take hours to notice changes in a FF MMO, since they try so hard to keep stuff hidden. If not for the few players that took weeks out of their lives researching battle data and compiling statistics FFXI players STILL wouldn't know how much haste the Haste spell gives. Or how to find your Acc, Ratk, Latent triggers..
Jirras 1 year ago
@Jirras First off, why would anyone bother finding out that shit when 14 isnt even finished, its just a waste of time. And no, it doesnt take hours to find any changes. All you do is go to the lodestone, see what they updated, and go test it out, doesnt even take that long. Your making it sound as if its a dam job that you do everyday.

And, talk in the grind? As in, vent/skype/TS? I hope you don't mean in-game text cause, wow, that must be really, really simplistic and slow combat to let you do that.
Jirras 1 year ago
Square Enix, we know you're trying so, so hard to become Blizzard. But why should I sit through a game that has no interface and takes too much time in town? Why should I pay money for this game when you can get a fairly decent WoW knock-off from Shaiya? Or pay money for games that work, like Aion or City of Heroes? Hell, if I wanted to see a game that put more effort into its graphics than anything else, I'd boot up my PS2 and pop in one of your free games. Sorry Squeenix, you're obsolete.
lalalalucius 1 year ago
@lalalalucius "Pay Money", i think i remember FFXIV beeing free until they think the game is ready. And it seems from the games you listed, that you like Fast-Paced games. And by what do you mean takes too much time in town? Lag? If so, get a better comp. But like i said, looks like you like Fast-Paced games so FFXIV is not for you.
TheMrLvost 1 year ago
@TheMrLvost Lol i love final fantasy fans/MMO non-conformists. They're always idiots. From what I can tell, it's not lag, sweetheart, but shitty coding. And I still have to buy the fucker, don't I? Why waste 50$ for a game that doesn't work. Obviously you can't deny that it takes too long to sell items. I don't need fast-paced games, I need games that are FUN. But it's obvious that because I like fun, ANY final fantasy isn't for me. Sorry, I'll stick with fun games, thank you.
lalalalucius 1 year ago
@lalalalucius Ok even if you still buy the "Fucker" thats 50$, over the past damn what, 5 months its been free, and continuing to be free, so technically SE is paying you. And yes it still takes long to sell items, i just deal with it, seems you cant, with that attitude of yours. And shitty coding can easily be updated and patched, thats why SE is working to make the game you want it to be, but it seems you dont understand this.
TheMrLvost 1 year ago
I'm not a fanboy or a hater of anything, but what is fact. I have the first 3 wow expansions sitting no my desk and I bought FFXIV at launch. From launch I have enjoyed FFXIV more than I have ever enjoyed wow. I also played Aion for around 4 months from launch, it was fun, but the grinding got to me eventually. Out of all of them, I have enjoyed FFXIV the most so far. The graphics are amazing. It did have a shaky start, but it's getting better every day. On top of that, they are adding an AH.
coninja2007 1 year ago
FFXIV will get better for the select few who remember what FFXI was like when it was in beta and when it launched it was pretty much the same as FFXIV, Slow getting off the ground but after about a year it turned out to be a good game that lasted 7 years. I think it will work out in the end for people who were fans of FFXI.
maffers7087 1 year ago 28
@maffers7087 You're also neglecting to take into account several factors. One being FFXI had little to no competition, which allowed it to have such a bad opening. Another being how much they fumbled FFXIV's development and release, when compared to FFXI's.
I'm not saying you can't be optimistic, but also be smart about it.

Noah837 1 year ago
@Noah837 You can't return PC games. There's also plenty of people that enjoyed FFXI (including me) that hate this game. It's not about effort but about shitty gameplay and design.
lufia22 1 year ago
@lufia22 Okay, well I was just wondering because it reminds me of all the complaints done about FFXI and look at how SE responded by making it have less variety and just overall ruined many good aspects of the game that made it enjoyable throughout the years prior to all their excessive changing in late 08' I believe? You may complain to your hearts desire and they may do some adjustments but it could be totally different than what you expect because afterall it's not you developing the game.

@lufia22 Don't waste anymore time with this guy, he's a fan-boy trying to stick up for what he worships. =]
asmadeous 1 year ago
@Noah837 You should have been in on the late beta and you would know why FF14 is such a steaming pile of shit. And no, from what I've read it's not like when it was released suddenly the veil of crap covering a pile of golden treasure was lifted, it still sucked balls and was basically the same game at release as it was in the late beta. If you want to be entertained in a fashion similar to FF14, punch yourself in the balls repeatedly. At least you'll save some money (and it's less painful.)
fhqwghads 1 year ago
@Noah837 If you need to rely on the inefficiency and cumbersome clunkiness of your trade system to provide difficulty (tedium and annoyance), then you're doing it wrong. It mystifies me how people try to justify badly designed systems with "it's part of the challenge". I'm sorry, but sifting through a bunch of shit for half an hour is not challenging, it's boring and annoying.
Skyshattered 1 year ago
@Skyshattered I never said anything of the sort. I was merely stating that some people tend to over exaggerate on things and its just silly. There are things you can't have control over, like how the dynamics of FFXIV are for example. Of course selling items for a half hour is repetitive and boring. I'm not denying that one bit but I hate how people portray WoW as the best thing since sliced bread and that its infallible. It isn't because there's always going to be something to tick you off.
Noah837 1 year ago
@Noah837 There are many WoW players who complain about the difficulty of WoW, and they also constantly complain about how features that are handy and improve efficicency and time spent on menial tasks dumb down and make the game easier, I've been frustrated wih that stance for a while now, so I may have jumped the gun with you.
Also, WoW's success speaks for itself, people can slag it off all they want, the game is incredibly polished and fluid, and it dominates the market for a reason.
Skyshattered 1 year ago
@Skyshattered It's no problem. I realize WoW is much more cohesive and put together than FFXIV. Then again, FFXIV is still fairly new so it still has room for improvement. Suppose SquareEnix fixes the mess that is permeating it now and allow easy access to selling whole bulks of items or atleast multiple items at once instead of just 1 at a time, wouldn't that dramatically increase its desirability to play? That shouldn't be too hard for them to do and surely they know people aren't happy.
Noah837 1 year ago
@Noah837 hey dont do it i quit FF14 after 2 weeks! In game mechanics are busted!
Redrussian1983 1 year ago
@Redrussian1983 Well, I might still pick it up and give it a shot anyway because despite its major flaws that make it painful to play as shown in this video, it looks appealing and intriguing to me. I can always cancel my subscription and cease paying for the game monthly if I wish. I may not be able to return the game itself to get my money back from purchasing it but I'm thinking if I held on to it and see if they improve the game I could play it then when its better.

Raansu 1 year ago
@Raansu Bullshit. WoW had dungeons. FFXIV is straight up grinding. AoC had dungeons (and PvP). Tabula Rasa had dungeons. LOTRO had story quests, monster PvP, and dungeons. Champions Online had PvP and dungeons. How many more do I need to list that had more content than FFXIV does at launch? Stop using your bullshit FFXIV defense. I see it everywhere. "Every game sucks and is equally bad at release." BULLSHIT. That's the most ignorant and inexperienced argument I've read.
lufia22 1 year ago 76
@lufia22 Every MMO is straight up grinding at its early stage. The game is only a couple of weeks old, no one knows what kind of content is available at end game yet. LOTRO has a story? Cool, so does FFXIV. WoW had dungeons? Cool. Its just another form of grinding, but in an instance. And content is defined differently in games. FFXIV Faction leve's and Behests are no different that dungeons. It's more or less the same concept. And world PvP sux. I'm glad FF14 doesnt have it. I hate being ganked
Raansu 1 year ago
@Raansu What the fuck are you even saying dude. You even play MMOs? This game's UI is clearly tailored to consoles, its a glitchy piece of shit, and it holds nothing over other games at launch. Your whole argument seems to be what content was at launch. The author of this video already shut you down on that. Whats your argument now? Content? LUL don't make me laugh. #1, content should be available at game start. #2, no amount of content can fix the shit UI and glitches.
Prosthetics511 1 year ago 2

@Beans253 Yes, seriously, WoW is a care bare game. You can reach the cap in less then a week, items are given to you on a silver platter, and the game is plagued by children. WoW is a joke. I'd rather suffer through all the problems with FF14 then ever go back to WoW.
Raansu 1 year ago
@lufia22 Actually comparitive to what it was to what it is now WoW SUCKED at launch. Also you mentioned 3 MMOs that FAILED. Well LotRO didn't really fail but its now FTP.
Also rather than making another comment I am going to say this EVERY game is a Grind. If you want to argue that with me then you fail at everything because what differs most games from each other is HOW they do that grind. MW2 you go around shooting people to gain levels. THATS A GRIND
chaosLeader0 1 year ago
What's your point about WoW? It's better now than it was at release? Thanks for making that point, genius. That doesn't detract from the fact that it was in a much better position than FFXIV is at launch.
Whether or not a game failed has nothing to do with how much content it has.
Anything can be simplified into a grind. So? When I say grind, I refer to killing enemies over and over for no other reason than to fill up your XP bar. You know...like Maple Story and countless other Korean MMOs.
lufia22 1 year ago
@lufia22 Every game is a grind, but WoW was smart and hides the fact that it is indeed a grind.
Fanboys of Final Fantasy just hate WoW because its not shitty anime style.
jeskaflow 1 year ago
@chaosLeader0 I wouldn't exactly say that champs online has failed.
Simriel 1 year ago
@Simriel The only game I listed that has actually closed is Tabula Rasa. There's different definitions of "fail" just like there's different definitions of "grind," which sort of makes me wonder why he got all technical about my use of the word "grind" when his use of "fail" is equally debatable.
lufia22 1 year ago
@chaosLeader0
Whats that say about SE?
zozma38 1 year ago 2
@chaosLeader0
Putting it bluntly, WoW had more content at launch than FFXIV did.
zozma38 1 year ago
@zozma38 Want to know what other games hide the grind? Bioshock, MW, MW2, Fallout 3, Force Unleashed. I could NAME almost any game and it hides the grind pretty well because EVERYTHING is a grind no matter what genre no matter what you want to do ITS ALL A GRIND.
chaosLeader0 1 year ago
@chaosLeader0 It's probably pretty pointless to explain this to a troll, but to everyone else... everything is not a grind. Grinding isn't an umbrella term for doing anything, it's a term for repetitively doing something that's NOT advancing a plot or has any relevance beyond just doing it. Some people like to grind and some people choose to ignore a plot and can turn an otherwise good story into a grind. Like Lufia said, play a Korean MMO... no plot, just kill, kill, kill... zzzzzz :\
SSJ21Talon 1 year ago
@SSJ21Talon Learn the ACTUAL definitions of internet words before you start using them okay? Second grinding is a term used to mean doing the same thing over and over again it doesn't matter whether or not it advances the plot or not if its doing the same thing over and over it is a grind.
chaosLeader0 1 year ago
@chaosLeader0 Troll - One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.
Grind - To grind is to kill monsters or mobs in an area for the singular purpose of gaining xp (experience points) in order to level, as opposed to farming or completing quest objectives within the game.
Yea... grinding, farming, and questing are all time sinks, but there's a difference.
SSJ21Talon 1 year ago
@chaosLeader0
All those games you listed don't require a monthly fee to keep playing. Point still stands; FFXIV is a bland game. Nothing but doing 8 leves every 36 hours and then grinding with no other content. Graphics don't make a game which is one thing SE should have taken from Blizzard's WoW.
zozma38 1 year ago
@zozma38 Did I ever disagree with you that FFXIV didn't suck? read all my posts and tell me EXACTLY where I said the words FFXIV does not suck. I was just saying that all games have a grind and that some are just better at hiding it than others.

@johnnyrock30 "Obviously Superior Rift" Lol you already sound like a gay nerdy Rift Fanboy.
TheMrLvost 11 months ago
@fhqwghads Not sure how you got 3 thumbs up. The only thing more ridiculous than Rift's graphics is the fact the game was released in 2011. It has some great concepts, but beyond that all I see is another WoW imitation. I won't disagree that square's gone to shit and ffxiv was released way too fucking early. I'm not holding my breath, but ffxiv could still miraculously re-enter the ring. But as far as I'm concerned, Rift was never in it--all it did was sweep up the impatient mmo players.
Velacroix 10 months ago
@Velacroix It's simple - people liked and agreed with me so they rated me up. People like you will ALWAYS see "WoW" imitations. It's been said a million times about every MMO that has come out since WoW. People will compare new products against old products. Companies take what works and put it into new products, and improve on them. You will *NEVER* see an "omg this is so much better than WoW but nothing like it!" EVER. Games evolve. WoW wasn't exempted. It built on previous MMO successes.
fhqwghads 10 months ago
@fhqwghads Whoa wait a min,....WoW was a success? Yea sure it was, back then, because it was basically the only anticipated MMO in 2004, because of the previous games that came out before it. (Diablo II *2000*, Diablo II Exp. *2001*, Warcraft 3 *2002*). Diablo II was a big hit back then and so was Warcraft 3, when people heard there was gonna be a "World of Warcraft" MMO, everybody basically shit their pants. WoW, at this time of year, is *Not* the best MMO. Cont.,->
TheMrLvost 10 months ago

TheMrLvost 10 months ago
@fhqwghads gameplay? Little kids these days don't have "Patience". So thefore, WoW would be the one they play. But you cant deny that either, although yes, there are older people who play, but those are the people who have been playing basically since release or a little after release. "The ones who cant let go", God forbid they cant try another game. They release the same boring shit each expansion, "5 more levels, and items, dungeons that are basically the same". Only reason they keep most of
TheMrLvost 10 months ago
@fhqwghads their subscribers is the "5 lvls" every expansion. If they put a level cap on WoW, do you seriously think they would have as many players they do now? And *YES*, you will see some MMO's that are better then WoW, but is nothing like it. For Example, EvE Online. They are comming out with alot of new shit that fckin blows the mind. But yea, im bored at work, so im having fun typing this.
TheMrLvost 10 months ago
@TheMrLvost I didn't say WoW was a success (although you can't argue with revenue, it is easily one of the most subscribed and profitable MMOs on the face of the planet.) What I *did* say is that WoW built on the successes of MMOs before it. As for the rest of what you said, I mostly agree. WoW was built for the least common denominator, and Blizzard made out like a bandit with that approach.
fhqwghads 10 months ago
@TheMrLvost actually its usually 10, but blizz did 5 this time round because it takes the same amount of time to get those 5 levels as it does to get the 10 from the previous expansions.
ThatGametv 8 months ago
@fhqwghads actually... no-one's had to pay for it.aside from the initial box purchase. Square enix has refused to charge people, even in the light of the recent earthquakes in japan, and the fact that the game's launch did quite hurt them financially.
Rift is an okay game, but didn't click with me. same with WoW this is likely for me due to how similar the two games feel to play.
I enjoy FFXIV, and have loved recent updates, and planned updates shared with the players by the dev team.
KitusPariah 10 months ago
@fhqwghads And WoW fanboys take any object Blizzard hands them and shoves it up their ass. Fucking hell, when Rift was shown in commercials, they even referenced WoW to get more attention. And when Rift was released, WoW saw a signifigant decline in subscribers due possibly to Rifts release, because many WoW fans think it's very similar and are just trying to move on. Brag all you want about Rift's success, but don't even try to tell me it was riding on WoW's coat tails half the time.
NegiBozu203 9 months ago
@NegiBozu203 But the kicker is that after the free month was up, almost all the Rift players went back to WoW.
BroadwayRonMexico 1 month ago
@lufia22 Screw that! I love XIV and hate WoW! I played WoW for an hour under the free trial, and hated it. Character creation was limited, it threw me somewhere with no hint as to what's going on, didn't give me any help on how to play, and expected me to walk on my own. Whenever I asked for help I got basement dwellers screamin NOOB and laughing at me! And I saw 10 Mr. Ts, proving commercialism plays a big role in this money scheme of an MMO. One of the worst I've ever played!
NegiBozu203 1 year ago
@NegiBozu203 I couldn't give a flying fuck which game you like more or why you hate WoW. This is a video comparing selling. Nothing more. You fanboys and haters alike have turned it into something else, which I haven't helped by spouting my own opinion. Regardless, this video could have been FFXIV versus many other games, but this just happened to be the two games I had subs to. It's not just WoW that has quick inventory selling. It's many other MMOs as well.
lufia22 1 year ago
@NegiBozu203 Also, if selling speed has improved in FFXIV or you truly believe I was doing it slowly, then make your own video response instead of using words. Words don't mean shit, hence why I made this video. Granted, I firmly believe I didn't sell things slowly. I messed up a few times at the beginning, which exemplifies the unnecessarily complicated procedure of simply selling an item, but you could easily skim 30 seconds off my sell time and it would still be ridiculous.
lufia22 1 year ago
@lufia22 You only have to sell stuff like once every few days, so the speed once in a while doesn't matter, and the fact you complain, is just being whiney. And you're not helping your point by comparing it to WoW. because you're doing what everyone does in this video, and comparing an MMO to that many feel people should follow after.Whether the sell speed is fast or slow, who cares, you barely have to do it. And if you let this one point ruin the game for you, then you're a whiny child.
NegiBozu203 1 year ago
@NegiBozu203 The fact that you're on my video comment section complaining about my video sounds a bit whiny. And you must not play often if you rarely have to sell, because I had to sell often, especially if you're a gatherer. With all the normal, +1, +2, and +3 versions of those items, your inventory gets filled up fast. You're also making the assumption that this one point "ruined the game for me," which makes you a fucking moron.
lufia22 1 year ago
@NegiBozu203 Also, if you'd like me to compare it to other games besides WoW because your fanboy rage makes you loathe anything WoW, please pay my $15 subscription fee and I will. Otherwise get your dick out of your ass and deal with it. Your game isn't perfect. It's so god awful that they gave several months free just to keep people playing and they're completely changing the development team because the one working on it was such a failure.
lufia22 1 year ago
@lufia22 First off, the subscription fee isn't $15, way to get your facts straight. And I'm not saying its perfect, I don't think anyone anywhere is, but its not bad. People just need to accept the fact its something different. I've played many, many online games in my time, and I find WoW to be one of the worst. A game where you can max a character in one week then start all over is not a game, its a waste of time. Just because other people like it and you don't, you don't need to be a dick.
NegiBozu203 1 year ago 4
@NegiBozu203 I didn't say FFXIV was $15. You're bitching about me comparing the speed of selling to WoW, the game you hate and loathe. I said pay my $15 sub to another game (which, you know, is the typical sub fee for most games) and I'll compare it something else. Otherwise, GTFO.
Also, I've played many, many online games, and I found FFXIV to be one of the worst. OMG, we have different opinions. And guess what?! I don't give a shit what yours is. OMGOMGOMGOMG
lufia22 1 year ago
@NegiBozu203 Clearly if you think you can max a character in a week on WoW, you've never played it, or couldnt get past the starter area, WoW is a great game, thats why millions play it. If you are playing casually it will take you a minimum of 3 weeks to reach 85, and then another few to get decent gear. But if your playing non-stop, it will still take a while, as you can only do certain things once per day.
ThatGametv 8 months ago
@ThatGametv
