  • And PATTI LABELLE steals the BALL!!! WHAT A DUNK!!

  • And where were Whoopi Goldberg and Lauren Hill?...

  • Where was Whitney Houston? Where was Beyonce?

  • @nubianacbn I think Beyonce was on tour during this time

  • I kind of wish Whoopi Goldberg could've gone, too, but I guess you can't invite *everyone*.

  • Why is Chaka not a 'legend'? This makes no sense.

  • @marilynfoltskog. That was so incredibly Disrespectful and tasteless for you to say what you did. Oprah is a pioneer! Period ! The countless things she has done for people world wide is immeasurable ! She clearly cares for PEOPLE .. period.

  • You know, oprah has done nothing in her life but use the "negro" card and "sexual abuse" card to line her pockets. Her recent tweets have shown her for the nasty, self absorbed bitch she really is. That said, this was an awesome event, even though it was done to pat her ever expanding ego. The women honored are totally amazing, but I really believe those 25 women, like me, look at you Oprah and go "all the money in the world ain't gonna buy you respect"

  • @marilynfaltskog grow up.

  • love u chaka

  • @fareel2368 - STFU!!!

  • Did anybody repent of their sins at the end of this? Was anybody convicted and understand that we all all sinners and that we all need JESUS and not just a feel good show.....

  • This was beautiful. Well done Oprah. for thanking these women that have paved the way and changed so many lives for men and women alike.

  • They should get all these women in a studio and have them record this just the way they sang it!

  • Amazing event. Truly Legendary artists.

  • But Tina is Buddist rite??.. either way this is so intense, too emotionally intense to watch !!

  • @kennylondon123 And thats what i love about this... God isn't scared of other peoples religions and beliefs because if its a real anointing then God will transcend all barriers. For the bible say's "If two or more are gathered in my name there I am in the midst of them".. Thank you Jesus!

  • @kennylondon123 haha! Yeah alot of people are questionable right...?

    even Oprah..

  • @kennylondon123 She is a Buddhist, but I think this was just about having fun, nothing to seriously theistic

  • Truly Powerful, Empowering Tribute. They teach Us all To Walk ,Fight, and Pray.

  • Patti SHUT IT DOWN!! I think i know why she was near the end, because no one wanted to follow her! haha! GO MISS PATTI! Xxxxxx

  • they don't call her Chaka for nothing!

  • COME ON GLADYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a mockery

  • this was soooo beautiful i ain't gonna lie i cried

  • A piece of heaven on earth occured to inspire all who saw this moment and the blessing is those who carry away the moment to 'dream bigger' and help someone else to not only dream but accomplish their goals. Inspiration does not need a script.

  • I am curious, its a beautiful hymn, but are the those the real lyrics to it or are they improvising what they sing as the go around?

  • @ghnrtgiun Yes they were improvising.

  • Wonderful. And the music was so uplifting..."Jesus, showed up" apparently. I wonder how many of those who sang actually know the guy?

  • I love how Mama Shirley didn't hesitate she went str8 for d gut lol......sang mama!!!!

  • omg this was so inspiring I hope our generation want to go above and beyond with their life so this legacy of women will always have a voice with in us......

  • You just KNEW that when BeBe stuck that mic' in Patti LaBelle's hand, it was "a wrap"....and u could hear the people encouraging her, knew that she wad gonna burn it down.

  • @5:12 Diana Ross looks like she about to let loose and priase God. Amazing!

  • This was the bomb!!!

  • How amazing is this!

  • At the end Patti just had to give the mic back because she would have sent everybody into a spiritual seizure.

  • I love Patti and Chaka the most but collectively it was simply the bomb!

  • Now I know Shirley went on longer, I wish they could have posted the entire event. Spectacular!!!!!

  • It brings my heart so much joy that Oprah used her influence to gather together

so many women of substance, significance and character together in one place for all of us that have a computer to enjoy the treasures of this earth as we live it daily. God is awesome He used you a willing vessel to recognize those that pathed the way for us....Oprah Thank You, Thank You, Thank You...it made be weep in my heart and cry tears of joy and rejoice in my spirit....

Thank you,Oprah for letting me see all the beautiful Black women that has been in my life and that has made me proud to be a BLACK WOMEN!

  • At end of the day its great to see who the legend of all legends is Jesus Christ thats who they praised not man - thanks Oprah

  • Every time I see Angela Bassett in these videos, I can't help but smile! She's so beautiful!!

  • wow

  • They shoulda passed the mic to Janet.

  • Wow...incredible. I don't care what people say about Oprah. She is a person that is 'open' to being used by God. This was so inspirational. I am so thankful to God that I got to see this in MY lifetime. The human spirit inspires the human spirit, and it is by-inlarge because we are all Created in the image of the Almighty God. Believe me...Oprah and all of the legends are aware that if it wasn't for God none of them would be where they are. Bravo Oprah...I could watch this over and over.

  • Janet is so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG

  • @rioRochoa93-The song is called "Changed" by Bishop Walter Hawkins. Bishop Walter Hawkins is the gentleman singing on stage in the grayish black suit. • what is the song they are all singing to and improvising to

  • most spectacular event ever!!

  • GOD showed up....and jesus was his backup at this event

  • Now my comment is not to offend anybody, but even though Oprah serves people of all races, she is still who she is (a strong african american woman) and she knew how to say thank you with those powerful BLACK voices...Oprah knows what's up....I love this video......

  • I wish Whitney was there, she really would have had them feelin the sprit

  • @mikaldblack i agree, it would have been complete with Aretha, Whitney, Beyonce, Vanessa Williams and Eartha Kitt.

  • @MCLAMB4LIFE1 I know rite, cuz Whitney can really SANG the gospel but nevertheless it was still VERY entertaining

  • 3:51 - 4:27....MY GOODNESS!!!...PATTI LABELLE turned into a complete thunderstorm!!! Then Mama Patti gave BeBe the mic back and threw up her hands like "I'm done laying it down out here now" LOL..and Oprah looking like "Do yall hear and see that singing heffa?!?!?"...Got me just throwing up my hands and crying!!!...Jesus!!!

"Oh happy day!...when JESUS washed...He washed my sins away! John 3:16 "For GOD so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For GOD did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

  • Man that Pattie is the you know what!!!!!! No matter if you hate her or not you cannot deny that she has a gift that many singer and artis have this day. I really love who she has become and where GOD is taking her is a blessing. I pray that he continue to bless her , her life, her family, and that voice. She is beautiful inside and out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA PATTI!!!!!!

  • It is TOO MUCH, I cant' take it. Every time I watch this, now 6 years later, I have a deep, DEEP, feeling, I cannot explain it. I just cry, from begining to end, I just cry.

  • @DoMoreGoodDeeds me too.

  • Now THIS is bein' in church - my skin may be white, but I got sistah in my soul and all these women are my heroes. This was a phenominal gathering of phenominal women, ladies, queens and goddesses. ALL HAIL.

  • i have watched this everyday for the last week since i discoved it.....Patti's part more than anyone elses...she killed that right there

  • NOW THATS SINGING..WHEN U DNT HAVE 2 WARM UP BUT JUS TAKE THE MIC AND SHOW OFF THE VOCALS!!

  • @msmcgill30 for real!

  • What Maria Shriver said was hilarious!!!!

  • @janellmd Right?!?! They were not even thinking about Maria LOL!

  • I wanted them to have given the mic to some of the white folks jus to show them that u cant messsss with RAW BLACK TALENT JUS SAYING LOL....if that had continue Jesus would have come to earth that day...especially with PATTI SHE IS THE BOSS....and where was WHITNEY ....the voice Houston

  • janet looked soooo nice at the luncheon

  • They should have passed the microphone to Della Reese or Diahann Carroll.

  • "I got to say Thank You"...

How painfully heartfelt, emotional and honest.

I don't think I have cried so much watching a TV show in the last 5 years.

  • Everyone waits for Chaka to bring the house down....so wonderful.

  • Patti knew she was bad. I rewinded that part back like 5 times just to hear those notes again and again. I watched, I cryed and now I dream bigger, just like Tyler said. Tina Turner, you are my hero. Patti, Gladys,Maya, I look up to you all.

  • @sanggurl16 - you are good, I must've done 20 when I taped it from the tv :) They were ALL good. This ain't singing, but what we say 'SANGIN'

  • @greatbydesign33 i could only im agine. Now she is well and she will have her moment by the Grace of the Almighty GOD! She will hav e her moment where she is honor

  • 4:52... Tina Turner was sho nuff GROOVIN, hmm??? I thought she was about to roll on the river right quick!

  • Diane Sawyer should have DEFINITELY been honored in some way, even though she isn't a blk woman, she did a powerful documentary in '91 called true colors: racial discrimination (it's on youtube). In the doc she showed in depth how blk ppl are discriminated and the deception, and then she would openly confront the people and make them feel like fools. She seemed like a mad sistah in that doc wanting to exploit this issue. Oprah should have mentioned her. in some way.
