I didn't even know what the term Brony meant until I saw a video here on youtube making fun of them. And then I became curious as to why these "Bronies," were being making fun of.I don't know why but somehow I felt captured by the emotions that were being put into the show and the fandom, but I suddenly found myself enjoying every episode of MLP:FIM that I have watched so far. Why I became so attached to this show still confuses me, but all I can say is that I AM A BRONY AND I AM PROUD OF IT!!!

Maybe this is like Transformers, the moment Autobots started getting destroyed people found that dark enough to spawn a fanbase that went beyond the children who played with them.But for this I just don't see it. It's a show designed to sell toys to girls of a very young age.

@Qtippery i did like arthur when i was a kid and i still think it's a nice cartoon, but for some reason i don't like it nearly as much that i like MLP, i think i major part of why that is is because of the community, there were no "bronies" for arthur, nor was there a way to watch it consecutively so there was no way for it to be as big a part of my life as MLP is. i DID love the magic school bus though, and still do, and all of my friends still love it too.

Hey, it's not for everyone. I personally like it because the characters are REALLY enjoyable, the voice acting is top notch and it just has a very cute, innocent, enjoyable feel. I like gory horror movies too, but sometimes it's just fun to watch something innocent. It is a very good kid's show and that's what makes it fun. And then of course you have the bronies, who are awesome to hang out with. But if you don't like, noone can force you. Cheers!

Lauren Faust created this show specifically in mind that ALL audiences can enjoy it..why else put all the effort and creativity into the show thus far? a brony is someone who genuinely enjoys the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because of the characterization, humor, animation, story, and generally everything else about the show, not just the fact that they are ponies.

While no, a Brony is not a furry, there is A LOT of cross over, both are... odd fandoms (grown adults -I'm a female- who, for lack of better words like cartoons) a huge majority of furries will admit to finding "Furry" from being a fan of a cartoon (*cough* Disney&Sonic) they liked the show, made an original character, and then found the larger fandom.
tl;dr They aren't the same thing but there are MANY similar things.

I became a Brony because of curiosity and the fact that I give things a chance and don't say bad things about them before or after.
I kept seeing ponies in videos EVERYWHERE and one day when Pinkie Pie's cupcake song showed up in a video I blew and went to see the first episode.
I was WOWED by how entertaining it was! It was actually watchable! Unlike Barbie or other girl shows. And that's how I became what I am today, a Brony. Later fellow Bronies! /)(\ *Brohoof*

I'm not a furry myself, it's not my thing. But I have a few furry friends, and the difference is quite...well, the two things cant even be compared to each other because they're two completely different things. Bronies are a Fandom community, Furry is a lifestyle/scene.

but the brony fandom =/= furries
a furry is someone who has an unspecified attraction (could be sexual or non sexual) to a figure with anthropomorphic aspects, not any specific character or story.
a brony is someone who genuinely enjoys the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because of the characterization, humor, animation, story, and generally everything else about the show, not just the fact that they are ponies.

While no, a Brony is not a furry, there is A LOT of cross over, both are... odd fandoms (grown adults -I'm a female- who, for lack of better words like cartoons) a huge majority of furries will admit to finding "Furry" from being a fan of a cartoon (*cough* Disney&Sonic) they liked the show, made an original character, and then found the larger fandom.
tl;dr They aren't the same thing but there are MANY similar things.
