Staind has a new drummer, Sal G. this band is doing just fine.....that documentary was/is very hard to watch, but they are out touring now. Aaron has some solo date starting in late december and running into 2012. Staind will be touring again in late spring/ early summer. this band is very much alive and rocking!!!

Yeah, I think Alice in Chains' influence is really just part of Staind's foundation. What I do love about them is how they still manage to add a lot of their own flavor to the sound, though. One of the reasons they're so talented/underrated is the way they can change their sound over the years. But yeah, Layne was Aaron's hero. If you want to find some cool tributes he's done, listen to the Staind original called "Layne" on 14 Shades of Grey or Staind's cover of "Nutshell". Both are excellent.
