  • No question the British "Northern Soul" crowd consistently displays good taste and erudition in music... for us in Chicago, of course, the Dells (and Curtis Mayfield, the ChiLites, so many other great soul stars, as well as Muddy Waters, Bo, and all the other Chess blues artists) are part of our hometown heritage. Thanks for posting.

  • got the 45 out of an old juke box.............smile .error try agian

  • Absolute class. Marvin Junior is certainly one of the coolest man of all times. KTF.

  • Awesome!

  • This song was on my 1st ever MOD album I bought in 1984 "Purple Hearts from pastures gone" if I am not mistaken ? and still have it in the storeroom .

    Awesome tune...............

  • Have they ever made a bad record? not a chance!

  • what a brilliant classic from a fantastic group, have they made a bad record?

  • Timeless piece of music....love it.

  • Tune!!! Mr 'M's!! Memories, thats what Northern Soul is all about.

  • Agreed in Spades!! The word 'powerhouse' comes to mind....both this and 'Run For Cover' are fabulous and you can pick both up on the Original Cadet Label for around £10-15 for this one and maybe £30 for 'Run For Cover'.......needless to say, both are in my collection!

  • One of those all time Northern Soul classics. I used to freak when this tune used to come on in Mr M's at the Casino. Norm Wint

  • os caras eram picas das galaxias.....

    simplesmente maravilhoso............

  • I am crying, all memories of good, kind, friends, listening, dancing, just loving each other.Where have those days gone ??

  • Absolute classic

  • oh just love this, yeah your right.. one of the best..

  • J5x9xx The Dells were one of the best , their singing was sureal, Marvin Jr. once in a lifetime voice, still inspires me, I Love THem

  • Simply one of the best soul / Northern soul records of all time, also, if you like this, listen to 'run for cover', absolute excellence.

  • Never fails to make me smile.

  • simply one of the best male vocal groups of all time. always had good harmony. always had very good arrangements. heard MARVIN JUNIOR sing " wichita lineman". as the young folks say, it was off the chain.

  • Love the Dells. Johnny recently passed away and the radio station here played this song. It is one of my favorites.

  • This song was their best. I listened to the 45 rpm single of this song over and over. They were every bit as good as the Temptations or the Four Tops.

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • All kinds of music can be wonderful but R&B from the 1960's is just unbeatable. "Let's put our love somehere for the whole world to behold". Sincere, straight, and strong.

  • Give me a break! One of pop's greatest and most influential bands. Marvin Junior- pure testosterone. God Bless the Dells and their timeless hits

  • No the lineup features Marvin Junior, Michael "Mickey" McGill, Verne Allison, Charles Barksdale and JOHNNY CARTER. ;)

  • best northern dancer.big sounds.big breaks .yeah yeah

  • Fantastic track - memories of great nights in Liverpool clubs in the sixties - love this band - any coming tours of the uk?

  • I always thought baritone lead vocalist Marvin Junior was every bit as good as Teddy Pendergrass, and that Michael Bolton was rather a poor man's Marvin Junior. His talent is showcased on "The Love We Had Stays On My Mind." GREAT song.

  • Are they still together? How do they sound? I loved them in the 60's. They always had great musical backup to go with their very powerful voices.

  • i saw them 3-4 years ago at the kimmel center in philly

they still sounded amazing, gave an unforgettable show
